Item Connotations culturelles dans la perspective humboldtienne. Étude comparative des unités phraséologiques du français et du polonais(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2001) Dyoniziak, JolantaThe main idea of this article is to indicate the relation of language and culture through reference to Humboldtian philosophy of language and some linguistic theories which lake up this problem. The analysis presented here deals with cultural connotations of idiomatic expressions and assuming that languages are representations that render the spirit of nations, it illustrates particular aspects of relationship between language and culture, namely: - placing expressions in the cultural specificity of particular communities, - difficulties encountered while translating them into another language, which are connected with differences in illustrating them (giving their picture). Examples collected in the further part are to show a certain group of these idiomatic expressions which are motivated immediately by social reality that is specific of either the Polish or the French nation.Item Effets stylistiques dans les titres des articles de presse a l’exemple de la presse française et polonaise(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2007) Dyoniziak, JolantaThe role of the media in the contemporary world is important and it isn’t limited only to communication. Equipped with specific techniques of writing, the media create mass culture. The following paper deals with stylistics proprieties of titles in the French and Polish press. The whole description is based on a large number of press titles which are interesting owing to their stylistics.Item Expressivité du discours de la presse(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012-12-30) Dyoniziak, JolantaThe present paper attempts to give an otline of the expressiveness of the discourse encountered in the mass media. Examples are drawn from selected Polish and French periodicals retrieved from the Internet: le Monde, Libération, Tribune, Newsweek, Gazeta Wyborcza. The political stance of these titles is characterized alongside. Main focus is laid on headlines which on account of their localization usually abound most with conspicuous discursive effects, including the ones having specifically expressive character. A priviledged position of the mass media in approaching real life problems is discussed first. Then, various wording techniques implemented in press titles are subject to a thorough analysis. Expressiveness and establishing a particular ranking of values are viewed as two concurrent and close-knit phenomena. Furthermore, expressiveness is shown to reflect current political trends and to comply with main characters of political regime in a given community. Finally, examples exhibiting a high degree of expressive markedness are analyzed. Their peculiar linguistic features result, among others, from delexicalization, NPs exhibiting a strong axiological bias, and neologisms.Item Pojecie „biedy" w jezyku polskim, francuskim, angielskim(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2005) Dyoniziak, JolantaThe aim of this article is the semantic analysis of the lexeme bieda in Polish, French and English. The author shows that the semantic contents of this lexeme in Polish is different than in the other two languages. The author claims that owing to a large amount of usages of the lexeme typical only for our language, it is a specific, cultural language item.Item Unités défigées. Problèmes de référence(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2008) Dyoniziak, JolantaThe article deals with the problem of functioning of the delexicalized units at the level of reference. The aim of the analysis is to describe the semantic relation between the referent of the phraseological unit (E0) and a referent of its updated form in discours (El), modified either at the formal or semantic level. The analysis was done on the basis of some articles from French press (Liberation, le Figaro, Courrier International) and from Polish press (Gazeta Wyborcza, Newsweek) including delexicalized units.
