We can observe an increase of a number of the scientists, being aware of a necessity to take disabled people’s perspective into consideration. That’s very meaningful that they have realized this necessity; otherwise they might make it impossible to establish a relationship with aforesaid people. Talking about ourselves helps us understand our feelings, thoughts and needs. It contains fundamental information on etiology and classification of selected genetic disorders, touches upon problems of their diagnosis, describes research methods, possibilities of applying them and outlines the directions of rehabilitation. It also presents what genetic examinations look like and how to prepare to them. Basic problems connected with intellectual disability, many a time accompanies genetic disorders.
