Doniesienie z badań(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Jaskulska, SylwiaIn the text, I touch upon the issue of social capital at school. In other words, I enquire whether it is a space where commitment and trust are in use. I refer myself to the results of research conducted among the students of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.Item Recenzje i noty - MIROSŁAW KOWALSKI, DANIEL FALCMAN, Ideologie nauk społecznych – warianty interpretacyjne, Oficyna Wydawnicza Impuls, Kraków 2012, ss. 146(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Zajdel, KrzysztofItem Interessen und Präferenzen von Grundschulkindern in den Fächern Kunst, Musik und Sport. Eine empirische Studie zu Geschlechterunterschieden im musisch-ästhetischen Bereich des Grundschulunterrichts(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Schultheis, KlaudiaThe article is based on a survey of 341 primary school children in Germany. The survey col-lected data on children’s interests in the school subjects of arts, music and sports. The objective was to examine gender differences concerning the popularity of the three subjects. The study also examines if there is a correlation between the children’s preferences for certain subjects and the popularity of a teacher or the children’s spare time activities. As the results show sports is the most popular subject as well as for boys as for girls. Sports do consider the inter-ests of boys and girls in a well balanced manner. Arts are still related to the children’s interests but refer more to contents preferred by girls. In music teachers almost don’t take up any topics related to boys’ interests. The main finding of the study is that arts as well as music are more focused on girls’ interests and preferences concerning the selection of topics. This should be considered in the development of curricula, teacher training and lesson planning as it is neces-sary to offer a balanced range of topics for both genders. The results also show a strong correla-tion between the popularity of a subject and the popularity of the teacher.Item Dlaczego ludzie niszczą więzi społeczne – tropy neuroewolucyjne(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Kwieciński, ZbigniewThe paper is a contribution to the discussion on the possibilities of and obstacles (barriers) to supporting social capital through education. The author takes up a neuro-evolutional interpretation and points out that territorialism is a characteristic of the deep brain which has been inherited by humankind from reptiles and primitive mammals. People whose behaviour is dominated by this deep brain concentrate on breaking social bonds with others. Systematic pro-social education in early childhood may reduce the domination of this relic residing in the human brain.Item Oferta dydaktyczna uniwersytetu. The purpose of this article is to show that this practice requires specific forms of teacher and student. The increase of roles ascribed to careers and the ability to plan, manage and moni-tor one’s career in the lifelong perspective are the most important requirements. The article noticeably stresses the subjective tinge of the career phenomenon. Career capital comprises of values that create career competence and that are useful in its constitution and development. It means that the career capital (which can increase, but which can also lose its value or be ex-changed for a “fresh” one) is a term reflecting in an individual’s mind a diagnosis and a progno-sis of accumulative individual resources, acquired in the course of educational, professional, social and cultural experience. There is no doubt that while analysing individual paths of a career development, one should include a wide spectrum of an individual’s determinants, as well as, one should examine semantic meanings that a subject ascribes to the reality in order to interpret and understand one’s past and new feelings and experiences.Item Kształtowanie kapitału społecznego w szkole – wprowadzenie do problemu(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Potulicka, EugeniaThe article deals with shaping human capital in school. Percepcja pomocowych funkcji szkoły w narracjach rodzicielskich(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Piorunek, MagdalenaThe text titled Around the problems of school counseling. The perception of school supporting functions in parental narratives raised the issue of psycho-pedagogical support (which are part of variousforms of counseling) taking place in public education. Social contexts of school functioning were referred to the three-step model of school counseling, where the components are: student problem identification, psycho-pedagogical intervention and support in consolidating and strengthening the student's ongoing changes (preparing for independence). Practical dimension of this model is trying to introduce new formal regulations of the psycho-pedagogical aid at school, which define the potential aid recipients (students with special educational needs, parents, teachers), its organizational formsand general principles. In the context of these provisions the qualitative analysis of school supporting functions is shown in the point of view of parents (the research illustration with the use of narrative interview technique), which identified a series of controversies and dilemmas in realization of broader institutional psycho-pedagogical aid.Item Zaangażowanie w szkole – szkoła zaangażowania. O możliwościach i utrudnieniach demokratycznego uczestniczenia uczniów w sferze publicznej(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Czerepaniak-Walczak, MariaThe subject of this article is the process of school education as a field of experience of the pupil's commitment. Assumption, that the school and the class are the essential place of the learning of civil’s participating isn't raising doubts because the education is perceived as the factor of the forming of the social capital as well as civic society There is a very strong assumption that between the education and the social engagement exist a real ties and this is recognized as so obvious that isn't verified. However the forming of the citizenship requires much more experiences, than in the process of the school's education which is usually focused on an accumulation of the knowledge, while civil participation requires the particular type of social interactions in peer teams. It means, that civil education as well as forming and updating of civil competencies requires personal experiences in the multidimen-sional social relations, in which the mutual obligations and duties create the social network of group members. In this text are discussed following areas of students' experiences favorable for the social and civil engagement of pupils: a) the process of education with particular reference to programs and contents of education, b) methods and forms of and teaching and learning, c) students' selfgovernment, d) extracurricular as well as voluntary activities and e) norms and principles regulating of social life at school. The most important for the social engagement is the possi-bility of students' participation in these forms of social life. It is seen as an important factor of students' engagement in different forms of organizations of lives in school.Item The concept of social capital and its usage in educational studies(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Guðmundsson, Gestur; Mikiewicz, PiotrThe aim of the article is to elaborate the theoretical background of the social capital concept. During the last decade the concept of Social Capital has probably been the most widely used concept in international sociology and on the intersection of sociology and educational studies. Besides, teachers’ efficacy beliefs are considered to be crucial in their functioning. To enhance teachers’ effectiveness, an understanding of the sources of their efficacy beliefs is therefore vital. This study investigates whether teachers’ trust in students, parents, colleagues, and the principal relate differently to various facets of teachers’ efficacy beliefs. Multilevel analyses of data of 2091 teachers across a representative sample of 80 secondary schools in Flanders (Belgium) demonstrate different relationships between teachers’ trust in different reference groups at school and their sense of efficacy for instructional strategies, classroom management, and student engagement. Our results also indicate that teachers’ efficacy beliefs are not affected by characteristics of the school context, such as faculty trust. Our findings suggest that school policies that focus on trust-building could increase teacher effectiveness.Item Polityka resortów edukacji w posocjalistycznej Polsce jako czynnik erozji kapitału społecznego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Śliwerski, BogusławEducation is seen as a field of social life, life of nations, churches and countries, which creates in a natural way time consequences, interchangeability and complementarities of roles between perpetrators and victims.
