Od lingwistyki do semiotyki(Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk, 2014-06) Grzelak, ElizaThe author collected the most important findings concerning the internal diversification of the ethnic language (using Polish as an example) and, treating those concepts as a starting point, set out to present the contemporary universal linguistic, discursive and communicative communities. While stressing the high diversification of codes within the communities, the author returns to the rhetorical, adequately defined concept of three styles. In her description of the code of communicative community, the author draws a reference to the communal nature of rendering the image of the world and highlights its intersemiotic, supraethnic and universal character.Item Nieustająca admiracja dla starożytnego Rzymu. It has been shown that Elisabeth Bathory fell victim to the plot of the palatine György Turzó, probably instigated by the court in Vienna. Unfortunately, Polish historians have so far neglected to address this issue in their research.Item Granice wolności religijnej — dylemat współczesnych demokracji. Myśl feministyczna Rachel Elior(Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk, 2014-06) Kornacka-Sareło, KatarzynaThe aim of this article is to present the feminist thought of Prof. Rachel Elior (the Hebrew University, Jerusalem), who is a world-known scholar working, mainly, in the field of Jewish mysticism in its different forms and aspects. Nevertheless, Prof. Elior dedicated some of her works also to the problem of Jewish women who, for centuries, have been, generally, absent, in social, religious and cultural life of Jewish communities living in different parts of the world. As the analysis of Elior’s feminist literature shows, the aforementioned absence of the women has been mainly caused by the patriarchal order, created “by men and for men”, by means of some male narratives and male mythology, in which women seem to be – usually - perceived as some inferior creatures or they are simply demonized.Item Goidelskie wierzenia w celtyckim opakowaniu. Bożena Gierek, Religie Celtów, Wydawnictwo WAM, Kraków 2013, 356 s.(Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk, 2014-06) Faszcza, Michał NorbertItem Wybory językowe a złożona tożsamość – na przykładzie Żydów z dziewiętnastowiecznego Wrocławia(Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk, 2014-06) Rybińska, AgataThe purpose of this article is to illustrate the process of language change in the 19th century, taking examples from the following four areas: education, literature, liturgy and onomastic data from grave inscriptions. The analysis of school programs and reports, literature, including prayer books and grave inscriptions point to a multilingualism, partial linguistic acculturation and confirm the complex identity of Breslau Jews. In the late 18th century the maskilim had a reluctant attitude toward Yiddish as a Jewish jargon. In the 19th century Jüdischdeutsch was still used in print. The phenomenon of giving children Hebrew, Yiddish, and non-Jewish names and the multiplicity and diversity of the Yiddish given names, especially female names in the grave inscriptions bespeak the vitality of both Yiddish onomastics and the Yiddish language. All that confirms an intermediate stage in linguistic acculturation, a passage from the use of Yiddish to German. At the same time, Hebrew remained the language of the liturgy, and it was still taught in Jewish schools. However, it was German that was the first language of Breslau Jews. In fact, they were compelled to choose and oscillate between the language of religion and liturgy and the language of the country. The use of Hebrew, Yiddish, Jüdischdeutsch, and German determined the distinct (religious, linguistic) and complex cultural identity of Breslau Jews.Item Absolutyzm francuski z nowej perspektywy. Associated with traditional Judaism, the Musar movement was to be an alternative both to Chasidism and the HaskalahItem Phoenix dactylifera/Judaea dactylifera . Palma daktylowa jako “symbol żydowski” w świecie grecko-rzymskim(Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk, 2014-06) Maciudzińska-Kamczycka, MagdalenaThe aim of this article is to present the development of the date palm (phoenix dactylifera) as a symbol of the Jewish nation, their land Judaea and their separate religious beliefs and distinct culture in the Greco-Roman world. Literary and visual sources of this motif have their origin in very different contexts – Greek and Latin authors, Biblical texts, Roman and Jewish coinage, and synagogue art in Palestine and the Diaspora.Item „Ich grolle nicht” w „Cudzoziemce” Marii Kuncewiczowej. O pieśni z perspektywy interdyscyplinarnej(Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk, 2014-06) Sokalska, MałgorzataThe paper focuses on the song as a syncretic, literary-musical genre. The appearance of song quotes in a novel (Cudzoziemka by Maria Kuncewiczowa) represents an interesting case, which may nevertheless be examined from purely literary perspective. However, a more profound interdisciplinary reading, which combines the elements of analysis of a piece of prose and a piece of music, enables a better interpretation of this particular motif in the novel.Item O roli estetyki w historii późnego antyku, czyli Moniki Ożóg opisanie polityki religijnej Teoderyka Wielkiego.
