36, 2011(2012-05-08T07:46:25Z)Item An assessment of natural language robustness and how it relates to natural language sustainability: a fuzzy ecological approach to the lives of natural languages(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Puppel, StanisławAll living natural languages may be characterized in terms of their overall ‘robustness’. The concept may be defined as relating directly to the health/vitality /wellbeing (i.e. sustainability) of these languages. In the paper, an attempt is made to further define the concept in terms of a set of parameters as well as to show that natural languages differ as to the degree of their overall robustness.Item Język rosyjski jako centrum idei narodowej – ujęcie Władymira Biblera(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Kropaczewski, KrzysztofAn article written by a famous Russian humanist Vladimir Bibler, entitled “Russian national idea: Russian native tongue and the experience of culturological assumptions” (Национальная русская идея? Опыт культурологического предположения), is discussed here in the context of Russian culture’s logocentricity and the related phenomenon of Russian philosophy, with language and a word being its “core elements”. Bibler perceives his native tongue not only as a fundamental element of Russian mentality or “world view”, but also as a dynamic, nationwide symbol as well as the central element – an idea capable of uniting the whole society and fostering the relationship between tradition and the future.Item Kształtowanie nawyków językowych w procesie glottodydaktycznym (aspekt ewolucyjno-antropocentryczny)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Józefiak, SylwesterThis paper characterizes the theory and practice of developing language habits. The author describes some of the ways of forming habits by using glottodidactic methods such as: audio-lingual, cognitive and communicative. The results of the analysis show that the development of language habits should take place in repetitive informal situations, in which people use a foreign language in accordance with their intentions. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2012) Kistowska, Maria NataliaThe article is thought to be a contribution to a study on the mentality of homo sovieticus on the edge of a crucial period – perestroika. The basic material for the author were letters written by the audience to a movie screenwriter, Maryia Khmielik, and published as the last chapter of a film-based novel, both with the same title – Little Vera. This large body of voices stands up against – in their opinion – shameless and vile erotic scenes and against those few home truths which are presented. The portrait of homo sovieticus is fished out from fragments of the letters. Homo sovieticus seems to be sad, miserable, helpless and adrift in a new reality – just like the film’s characters. (Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2010) Koriakowcewa, ElenaThe article undertakes to show that in great measure the derivation of neologisms, including nomina abstracta, in Russian and in other Slavic languages links with morphological internalization and “linguistic globalization” processes. Nomina abstracta of Russian, Polish, Czech and other Slavic languages in the situation of the lingual contacting for some time past are used as an illustrative material. Some peculiarities stipulated by the influence of the contacting language are distinguished. This reflects on the lexical composition of international words, international elements of diverse derivative activity, changes in the morphemic structure of nomina abstracta in particular. (Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2010) Kuligowska, KatarzynaThe purpose of the article is to present the status of the derivational category nomina instrumenti in the light of cognitive linguistics. The adoption of the prototype approach allows to broaden the category nomina instrumenti by the names, which have been often excluded from it. The results of structural and semantic analysis of nomina instrumenti with the suffix -k(a) in the contemporary Russian language have been presented.Item Predyspozycje indywidualne studentów wyróżniających się(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Janaszek, KrystynaThe article deals with individual qualities of students who achieve very good results in foreign language learning. A survey conducted among students of modern languages at Szczecin University has shown that certain capacities contribute to successful language learning. These capacities include: linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence, extrovert personality features, a strong temperament, courage to apply communicative strategies, strong internal motivation and the ability to handle difficult situations.Item Problemy fonostylistyki w twórczości poetyckiej Wielimira Chlebnikowa(2011) Górska, MonikaThe article presents an attempt to analyse Velimir Khlebnikov's selected poems from the point of view of phonostylistic, i.e. sound and prosodic organization. In the poet's texts, sound can be said to have three main functions: onomatopoeic, conceptual, and structural. Each is present in Khlebnikov's texts, but none of them manifests to the same degree. A detailed analysis of these texts with respect to phonostylistic elements reveals a number of meanings absent from many other analyses, and many times proves to be the exclusive method of comprehension of Khlebnikov's texts.Item Twórczość Borysa Pasternaka w badaniach polskich(2011) Zbyrowski, ZygmuntThe Poetry of Boris Pasternak has been known in Poland thanks to translations and critical articles already since 1920s. Nonetheless Polish researchers became interested in his oeuvre as whole after the authors death. The largest number of studies originates from the last two decades, and their characteristic features include a great diversity of problems and methodology. The Polish authors are especially interested in the contents and form of Pasternak’s writings, and their analysis concern particular works (e.g. poems) or asserted questions and phenomena typical for Pasternak. The most active researchers in Poland are Anna Majmieskułow, Jerzy Faryno and Zygmunt Zbyrowski, other authors have published pertinent articles.Item Wielopłaszczyznowy charakter lekcji języka obcego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Siek-Piskozub, Teresa; Wach, AleksandraA foreign language lesson is an interesting and complex event, with a specific structure, social roles ascribed to the participants, and a set of relevant objectives which it aims to fulfill as part of a certain teaching methodology. Following the various perspectives on a lesson which were identified by Prabhu1, the article aims to emphasize the multidimensional nature of a foreign language lesson. Therefore, a lesson is scrutinized as a basic unit of a syllabus, as a way of operationalizing a teaching method, as a social event, as a scene of social interaction, and as an experience fostering the development of teachers’ competence.Item Współczesne nazwiska rosyjskie pochodzenia polskiego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Wójtowicz, MarianThe article presents an analysis of 349 surnames obtained from Russian telephone directories. The author discusses the most important phonetic and morphological features of Russian surnames of Polish origin, identifies their types and draws up a list of 116 most frequently used surnames.Item Zintegrowane podejście w nauczaniu języka obcego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Paliński, AntoniThis article deals with two of the four primary language skills – listening and reading. The author tries to show not only differences but also similarities between these two receptive language skills, as research has shown that they are very close to one another and have much in common, especially in terms of psychological aspects. The author draws readers’ attention to the fact that both processes – listening and reading – are connected with acquiring and understanding information, entail a critical and creative interpretation of a given text, have similar structure as well as require much concentration and ability to read between the lines, and, furthermore, to understand what is not said or written directly. It is suggested that an integrated approach should be incorporated into the foreign language teaching process, as there are clear similarities between the two aforementioned language skills, especially in the psychological dimension. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2012) Szarycz, IreneuszDmitry Glukhovsky’s Sumerki (Twilight, 2007) is the story of a young Muscovite who takes up the task of decoding the prophecies of the Maya Indians and connects them with the catastrophes that plague today’s world: earthquakes in Iran, hurricanes in the USA, tsunamis in Indonesia, and drought and conflagrations in Russia. The newspaper headlines and TV news announcements look like Maya Indian prophecies. While translating the old diary of a Spanish conquistador, he becomes involved in a maelstrom of incredible events which will help him interpret the predictions and look into the future, even at the cost of his own life. Can the world be saved? This is the question that Glukhovsky already asked his readers in his previous, dark and apocalyptic science fiction novel Metro 2033 (2005) about a bleak and not-too-distant future. His novel Sumerki is more than a novel – it is rather a metaphor and a manifesto.Item Архетип героя в повести Олега Павлова „Казенная сказка”(2011) Kryłowa, SnieżanaIn the article, basic features of the main hero of the story The state fairy tale captain Khabarov are being analysed. It’s also proved that the story became a support for overcoming the spiritual chaos for the writer during the epoch of disintegration of the 1990s.Item В какой степени возможно приобщение к межкультурной коммуникации в пределах усваиваемого иностранного языка(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2010) Woźniewicz, WładysławThe author justifies the rudimentary thesis of the paper: in the circumstances of neophilological training the acquisition of skills of respectable intercultural communication is limited. The boundaries of these limitations are given by: 1) the reduction of the use of foreign language to a basic linguistic competence, 2) the restriction of domains of communication mainly to behavioral activities, 3) socio-cultural requirement of obeying norms of political correctness, 4) the certain level of feeling of foreignness in the interpersonal relations.Item Валентин Распутин и Григор Тютюнник: рефлексы „времени подростка”(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2012) Nariwskaja, WalentynaThe phenomenon of “the time of teenager” in the literature is investigated in the article. The existential poetics of the image of a teenager in Valentine Rasputin’s story, French Lessons, and Grygor Tiutiunnyk’s stories Death of the Gentleman and The Ovary is analyzed.Item Венок из сказа: круглый фантастический маршрут по пластам наррации между иронией и наивностью (по материалам Исаака Бабеля, Татьяны Толстой и Жоржи Амаду)(2012) Aloe, StefanoThe essay tries to trace a path along some of the mechanisms of skaz following the works of very different authors: Tat’jana Tolstaja’s Kys, Isaak Babel’s tales and Jorge Amado’s Captains of the Sand. The joining aspect between these works must be found in the writers’ common attitude of permitting the characters and the internal narrator to directly convey their own points of view, while the author eclipses him or herself in a very hidden position. The reader has to reconstruct the author’s point of view by awakening his or her presence in the text, which is hinted at implicitly by irony, nostalgy, etc. Especially irony acts as a veiled link between the author and the reader, who percives his or her self-exclusion from the hic et nunc of the narration and from the characters’ skaz: irony underlines this unreachable distance and separates the reader from the naive narrator as well as taking the author away from his or her narrator.Item Взаимосвязи и взаимообусловленности межкультурного образования и коммуникации на иностранном языке(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Pacholczyk, TadeuszThe contemporary glottodidactics is an interdisciplinary science, which is reflected, among others, in the transition from mono- to bi- and multiculturalism. The following issues will be explored in detail: - discussion of the main assumptions of the post-communicative paradigm of contemporary glottodidactics; - definition of the subject of cultural studies and linguistics in the context of the relationships between “language and culture”; - development of relationships in terms of communication and intercultural competence; - definition of the main objective of intercultural communication; - analysis of relationships as well as intercultural teaching and communication based on examples.
