Problems tackled in the scientific papers included in the magazine are being put in a strictly global discourse over a temporal multidimensionality of contemporary society and the condition of the modern man, who’s living in a ambiguous and ambivalent global reality, forced to search for his place in a continuously constructed multicultural reality. A global cultural ecumene determines also an unconventional view on education in global conditions. Modern discourse over the quality of education, including the multiplicity of socio-cultural contexts of changes occurring in the world should favor the ability to design educational actions for the shaping of a pro-developmental society sharing a general education. Therefore a sine qua non condition should be an understanding of the essence of the transformation taking place in the educational field. Papers included, shall contribute to a general reflection and be simultaneously an invitation to a discussion on the participation of individuals in global culture, with a special emphasis on remarks over a necessary evolution of education in global conditions.

The author defi nes mechanisms of repression and symbolic violence over the body of the Victorian upper-class woman, connected with the phenomenon of social control over the woman’s body and identity. The author assumes that the desire to achieve physical beauty has always been a source of a biographical experience that was constitutive for a woman, a source of a separate identity for her in comparison with a man. This gap is worrisome because of the importance of mathematical skills in success in education, both in the secondary school and in higher education, and in the job market. This paper brie y reviews a number of possible reasons for this gap, including lack of suitability to girls of current instruction methods in frameworks of mixed-gender education, de ciencies in mathematics training and math anxiety among teachers, gender stereotypes, and the phenomenon of the self-ful lling prophecy. Then the paper outlines the researcher’s proposed method, Computer Assisted Learning (CAL), for promoting girls’ achievements in mathematics. The first is related to the biological model of disability, which is determined by the notion of physiological norm and for which organism impairment is a constitutive feature. What ranks as priority in the second standpoint are special educational needs treated as a derivative of functional disorders. This point of view is particularly visible in some psychological definitions presenting disability as individual functional disorders. The last perspective of viewing the disabled learner which is discussed here is situated in the assumptions of constructivism. Each of the presented standpoints allows for slightly different handling of the disabled learner’s school problems. In the presented article, the discussed issues are rooted in the last – constructivist approach.Item Drogi i bezdroza szkolnictwa wojskowego w Polsce(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu im.Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2013) Kojkoł, JerzyThe article presents the history of the military higher education system, which is connected to the shaping of the Polish statehood as well as its present state. However, it is only the November Uprising which is generally associated with the revolt of the o cers from the O cer Cadets School [Szkoła Podchorazych] in Warsaw. The changes which occur within the military education system on account of its adjustment to the requirements of the Act “Law on higher education” of 27 June 2005 are very positive. They accommodate military higher education institutions to the public system of higher education, they in uence the development and the quality of education in these institutions, they obliged them to implement the regulations arising from the National Quali cations Framework and to observe all the procedures arising from the legislations which are enacted in the domain of higher education by the competent public authorities.Item Dyskurs (post)konwencjonalnej tożsamości wobec merkantylistycznej natury globalizującego się świata(Wydział Studiów Edukacyjnych Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2014) Jastrząb, PatrykIn this article I described the idea of globalization, but I abandoned a strictly scientific analysis and treated the subject more contemplatively. I described not only the process, but also the values (connected with the culture of instant gratification, globalization and the cultural homogenization) and the orientation connected with it (consumerism, commoditization of human life) which shape the surrounding reality as well as ourselves. The question of identity, which is constantly shaping, is significant in this context. It is, just as globalization, fluid, unspecified and ambivalent. I endeavour to prove the hypotheses by adducing sociological, cultural and philosophical classic writers. The very last ones – fairly unexpectedly – become crucial to me and they let me analyse the human nature in postmodern reality holistically.Item Dyskurs obywatelstwa w podręcznikach do kształcenia literaturowego w gimnazjum. Has the policy of equal opportunities eliminated inequalities or, on the contrary has it deepened them?Item Dzieci jako adresaci i odbiorcy reklam telewizyjnych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu im.Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2012) Starosta, Anna MariaLiving in XXI century, experiencing personally technological and psycho – social changes that modern world provides us with, usually we cannot see many phenomena. One of them is undoubtedly the impact of TV commercials on children’s personality development process. – Yet, it has become one of the most important factors affecting the child in the process of the social – economic development that exerts great influence on the way of thinking and behavior. It mainly results from the fact that children today live in a world completely different from previous generations to such an extent that more and more often their childhood is described as „television childhood”. The child starts to experience the television (and what comes with it – TV commercials) at home continues throughout the childhood and his youth. A particular concern is the fact that children nowadays have a contact with the medium very early – it starts once their level of development allows them to focus on the screen for some (not long though) time. The range of their contact with the small screen is very wide – what is the most important – it is systematic, daily, lasting for many hours, it has the multifaceted nature and individual character.Item Edukacja medialna: ziemia wciaz nieznana?…(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu im.Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2012) Ogonowska, AgnieszkaThe paper describes the nature of media education, its main domains and aims of education in this matter, the state of research and practical solutions in Poland and the world as well as the diffi culties related to the student and shaping the media competences.Item Edukacja mniejszości romskiej w Polsce(Wydział Studiów Edukacyjnych Uniwersytetu im.
