Item Czerwony Kapturek. Kobiecość (nie)ujawniona – interpretacyjne prowokacje(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Gromkowska-Melosik, AgnieszkaThe author of the article reconstructs the various concepts of femininity in the fable Red Riding Hood. The main thesis is related to conviction that fables including Red Riding Hood are the fieldof specificcrystallization of culture uncertainity. In the case of Red Riding Hood competing interpretations of meanings are deconstructed. One can give here as an example the feminist understanding of Red Riding Hood, postmodern approach to this fascinating heroine and power girl related thinking, as well as psychoanalytic concepts. So in the seemingly naïve and banal fable various version of femininity and feminine sexuality can be discovered.Item Edukacja jako nośnik doświadczenia pedagogicznego w kontekście kreacji podmiotu pedagogicznego. Próba ustanowienia postpedagogiki(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Dembiński, MariuszIn this article, I want to propose post-pedagogy – a knowledge which is independent of social science. For this purpose, I use the content of pedagogy to create a sense of pedagogical experience and to definethe model of the pedagogical subject. Creation should be carried out using the principles of thinking and pedagogical activities, transforming information about the education system in educational activities, which comprise upbringing and training.Item Fokus: technika i jej zastosowanie w badaniach edukacyjnych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Banaszak, SławomirA Focus group interview (FGI), the focused group, focus groups or just focus are the definitionsof data collection techniques which, after several decades of development, have become an important part of research plans in social sciences. Placing the focus on communication techniques leads us to combine analyses consisting of interview and observation. It also raises the question whether the focus, which by definitioncombines and directly expresses the strengths and weaknesses of communication techniques and the strengths and weaknesses of observation techniques, allows achieving some kind of methodological synergy. In addition, the essence of measurement in science and – more closely – in social sciences seems to be an important context for the empirical functioning of the focus and for researchers preferring this technique of data collection.Item Geneza i rozwój subkultury hipisów w Stanach Zjednoczonych (wybrane konteksty)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Mrozek, JustynaThe aim of this article is to present the socio-cultural context of the development of the hippie subculture. It appears that authentic human participation in the reality of global and involuntary compliance with the directives of globalism is both a crisis of identity, of its existence, values, norms, and all human activities. Efforts taken to demonstrate the value of dogma, which carries with it an affirmation of the modern world, and conformist standards of conduct, is to notice the risk of objective truth about man and reality. Civilization implies in fact a kind of order to eradicate what is human. The human drama shows an almost total devotion to the values of functionalism and utility. Therefore, it is vital for modern education to return to the personal dimension of human existence. This accomplishment, a full range of education, which means clarifying the challenges confronting it, is only possible with recognizing and highlighting the personal status of the man based on the personalistic norm. This article helps the contemporary human being to realize the importance of learning to respect human dignity and to protect the identity of a mature man.Item „Indywidualistyczne” vs „kolektywistyczne” orientacje normatywne młodzieży akademickiej(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Cybal-Michalska, AgnieszkaIn the article, the author refers to the individualism-collectivism dichotomy, which is a theoretical construct serving to explain the mutual relations of the individual and the group. It moreover provides a dimension differentiating between cultures which give the primacy to the individual over the group and those, which privilege the group over the individual. An individualistic tendency means that an individual is the subject for whom the collective is an object of action. Collectivism is the polar opposite view: the collective entity is the proper subject of the proceedings, in relation to which individuals are objects. The author of the article, acknowledging the need to recognize the quality of images and views of academic youth about a career path, invoked the structure and function of selected normative assumptions as important dimensions of the socio-cultural mentality of the individual. The research study helped grasp the ‘individualistic’ and ‘collectivist’ normative assumptions of university youth,Item ’Inquiry Physics’ Program for Students-Implementation of Inquiry Learning in the Physics Lessons in the High School in Israel(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Sigron, MichalTeaching of the Sciences recently emphasizes more than in the past the importance of the student’s experience in inquiry, in different places in the world in general and in Israel in particular. This article describes the process of scientific inquiry and the change of the perception of the role, both of the student and of the traditional teacher, in the performance of the inquiry process. The article presents different initiatives that integrate the learning of inquiry in the teaching of physics in the high school in Israel. These initiatives show that the inquiry laboratories have the potential to promote meaningful learning among the students, to increase the depth of their understanding of the scientific concepts and the understanding of the nature of science. The article focuses on ‘Inquiry Physics’ program for students and presents the goals, the target audience, the time framework, and the structure of this program. The program aims to assemble the different initiatives under one framework and to provide them with an appropriate place in the teaching of physics. The learning method of inquiry is now fledgling in the State of Israel and mainly in the knowledge realm of physics. Therefore, exposure to this program may contribute to the body of knowledge on the characteristics of learning and teaching through inquiry in general and on the teaching of physics in particular.Item Jakie prawo jest potrzebne pedagogom?(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Andrzejewski, MarekThe article discusses the relation between law and pedagogy as well as between lawyers (theoreticians and practitioners) and pedagogues (theoreticians and practitioners). The author describes the manifestations of the current legal crisis and indicates how this process affects social life, particularly its pedagogical aspect. In his opinion, law should ensure freedom of pedagogical initiatives instead – as the dominant trend dictates – restrain them. The article is a changed version of a lecture delivered on the occasion of a jubilee of Professor Wiesław Ambrozik, held on 16 November 2017, in Collegium Minus, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.Item Jedna, wiele czy może żadna? Fenomenologia w naukach o wychowaniu. Wątki fenomenologiczne w naukach o wychowaniu – kontekst historyczny(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Piotrowski, PawełThe article presents and reflects on the presence of some phenomenological motifs in educational sciences research and investigations. The text focuses on historical, methodological and structural context of this connection. An attempt is made to assert qualification conditions for each of the answer options mentioned in the title, as possible answers to the question about the connection between phenomenology and educational science. An attempt to define reasons for each of the above answers is taken as well.Item Kompetencje komunikacyjne nauczycieli(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Strykowska-Nowakowska, JustynaThe article discusses the problem of teachers’ communicative competences and presents it from both the theoretical and empirical perspective. The second part presents the results of diagnostic research on selected teachers’ communicative competences. The research problems included: How do teachers understand the communication process at school, and what are the factors determining its level? What communicative styles do teachers use? What are the barriers in communication between teachers and students? The article concludes with remarks and postulates.Item Kształcenie policjantów w Stanach Zjednoczonych (wybrane podejścia i tendencje)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Andraszczyk, WojciechThe article reconstructs selected contexts of police training in the United States of America. The narration concentrates on the historical origins of police training as well as on the dominant relevant trends in presentday American society. Furthermore, the paper seeks to compare the two ways of thinking about police training which influencethe training programs in police academies. The author presents methods of shaping the identity of policemen, the firstof which is a military model and the second one is an academic model. The text focuses moreover on the evolution of the operating system of the American police: from intervention-oriented to a community-oriented model, which is constantly gaining importance in some police training programs.Item Odpowiedzialność zawodowa, a wprowadzanie uczniów klas IV szkoły podstawowej w świat historii. Oczekiwania społeczne, a codzienna rzeczywistość – wyniki obserwacji młodego nauczyciela(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Hurysz, MateuszThe teacher today works in close relationship with others, which forces him to accept a limited set of attitudes and ways of action. I assume for the purposes of this paper two groups of factors for the teacher modeling approach: external – pedagogical supervision and school-imposed regulations deriving from state teachers’ and society’s expectations, especially from parents and students themselves, the internal factors – the process of educating and teaching every teacher and crucial, long-term formation of conscience. Based on this specific quadrangle I will present the first stage of introducing a young man to the world of history at the second stage of compulsory education in Polish schools. The assumption is that a primary school teacher may encourage or discourage the student to continue learning history, both national and global, in the middle school or in the secondary school. This is a great responsibility, which even teachers themselves often forget. The article indicates how all of this corresponds to social expectations and what everyday reality for a young teacher is...Item Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis – nierówności w koncepcji kapitału społecznego Roberta P. Putnama (perspektywa edukacyjna)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Kowalski, Mirosław; Albański, ŁukaszThis article examines the concept of inequality in Robert D. Putnam’s Our Kids. The article discusses the intersections of social inequality and social capital shown in the book. In particular, the issue of inequality in access to education between children from different backgrounds is outlined and critically discussed. The conclusion suggests a possible new way to look at the relationship between education and inequalities, providing a theoretical basis for educational research.Item Pojęcie „zdolność” w narracji studentów angielskich i polskich. Ujęcie kognitywne(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Gierczyk, MarcinThe purpose of this publication is to show how students from Poland and England defineand understand the concept of ‘giftedness’. The analyses result from the author’s research conducted over the years 2013-2016. In the interviews, the students presented their own associations with the matter. Materials collected from 30 respondents, including 15 students from Śląski University and from a Lublin University and 15 students from Oxford University, showed that the concept of ‘giftedness’ is understood by Polish students identically to English students. ‘Giftedness’ was definedby a series of connotations: ‘creativity’, ‘talent’, ‘ability to do something’, ‘predisposition’, and ‘organization of thinking’.Item Reforma szkolna z roku 2016 – troska o ucznia czy innowacja na zamówienie polityczne(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Rondalska, DorotaThis article is devoted to the school reform of December 2016. The author discusses its appropriateness, the way it is introduced, and the social climate that accompanies it. This reform re-introduces the state from before 1998, i.e. an 8-year-long primary school and eliminates the junior school. The author raises a question about the justification for the reform, assuming that it does not take into account the results of the study on the effects of the 1999 reform, but may be politically-motivated. Another thesis concerns the repetition of the application errors of the previous reform as well as the formal way of introducing changes into the school system, especially the school network. The author points to a great social resistance against the reform, especially the way it is conducted and predicts that due to the hasty implementation of the reform and application errors, its effects may be half-hearted.Item Roszczeniowość vs ugodowość. Postawy rodzicielskie w środowiskach szkolnych z perspektywy teorii reprodukcji społeczno-kulturowej Pierre’a Bourdieu(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Jurczak-Morris, MartaSchool is a unique environment of social interactions. It generates the variety of attitudes and behaviours. This paper demonstrates differences in the attitudes towards school of parents, according to their social status. The research study emphasises that social class is one of the key determinants of ways in which parents participate in their children’s education process. Likewise, it shows that educational aspirations of a certain group of parents, as well as their vision of what education should look like vary and make up specific‘class patterns’ of parental participation in education. This qualitative rese-arch clarifiesthat most parents from advantaged social background have a clear vision on education as well as expectations towards school. They are therefore more likely to demand and complain. On the contrary, parents from a lower social class tend to be conciliatory, unquestionably trusting the school institution.Item Rozmowy młodzieży z rodzicami. Narracja z perspektywy młodzieży(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Karmolińska-Jagodzik, EwaYoung people have a strong need to be in good relationships with their parents. They learn from them most. Parents are the starting point and often the turning point in many crisis situations. In the process of formulating their identity, young people need more and more living space outside their family home to carry out their development tasks. But it is hard not to talk to parents. Each conversation may take different forms. This article shows the specificityof the ongoing discussions between young people and their parents in a contemporary family home. Based on my research, I point out not only conflictsituations in the contemporary family, but I also explain the importance of intergenerational conflict, its specificity. I moreoverindicate both normative and opportunistic aspects of the dialogues carried out by young people. I am going to show we need a conversation and what its strength is. Even if I seem to point to the negative aspects of conversation, it remains an indispensable, or even a therapeutic element of support for both young people and their parents.Item Ryzyko jako element stylu życia współczesnej młodzieży. Discussions on changes in the risk category in the present and the distinction between risk and anxiety were also discussed. Also presented are the results of our own research presenting the opinions of contemporary youth on contemporary society, taking into account the category of risk.Item Ryzyko zmaskulinizowania kobiet w dziedzinach ścisłych i technicznych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2017) Szymczak, EmiliaArticle entitled The Risk of Masculinization of Women in Science and Engineering focuses on the problem of women’s acceptance of male models and standards of behavior as a consequence of operating in the traditionally male work environment.
