Item Codzienne operacje arytmetyczne a problem kosztów podwójnego zadania: raport z eksperymentu behawioralnego kontrolowanego elektroencefalografem(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Przybyła, Tomasz; Klichowski, MichałVery recent studies show that a cognitive-motor interference can expose people not only to a motor danger but also weaken their cognitive capabilities. This effect is called the dual-task cost. One of the most popular examples of it nowadays is the smartphone use while walking, which is well examined. Yet, there are no studies that would analyse to what extent the other high-popular dual-task situation – shopping at the supermarket, weakens cognitive processes. To shed some light on this issue, we investigated a behavioral experiment on everyday mental calculations. Methods: Twenty mathematical-ly-educated adults took part in this study. We used stimuli in the form of shop labels. The participant’s task was to add two prices or state the price after a discount. They carried out the tasks by turns, either by standing (single-task) or walking with a shopping basket (dual-task). EEG controlled level of their attention. Results: We found that a cognitive-motor interference do not affected the everyday mental calculations. But, such familiar mental arithmetic as calculating prices after discounts was frighteningly difficultfor the participants. Conclusions: While our findingdoes not confirmthe occurrence of dual-task costs in everyday mental calculations, it has profound consequences for a mathematical education, which effects turn out to be useless in real life.Item Dziecko z mukopolisacharydozą w przedszkolu – perspektywa terapeutów(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Kamyk-Wawryszuk, AgnieszkaMucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) is a rare and progressive disorder. It gradually causes the disappearance of the child’s learned skills. There are few scientificpapers concerning the rules of conduct with a child of preschool age with MPS, and therefore therapists’ work often comes down to searching for adequate methods of therapy in order to preserve the skills acquired by the pre-schooler as long as possible. The main research question was: “How does the treatment of a child with mucopolysaccharidosis at an Inclusive Preschool look like from the perspective of therapists?” Four therapists working with two boys suffering from MPS were surveyed in the study.Item Education Leaders’ Health in the Integral Perspective. A Research Account(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Blajet, Piotr; Przybborowska, Beata; Baczała, Ditta; Binnebesel, JózefThe article aims at presenting the integral approach to the health of Polish education leaders’ (head teachers) in light of Ken Wilber’s map (four classes of factors responsible for health), in the social-ecological model of health. Material and Methods: The Matrix of ReflectivenessDevelopment, an original self-observation schedule, was applied as a research tool. 46 head teachers were examined. Results: The results show that the respondents look after their own health the least. Relaxation is something they associate with mental health, while physical health is not high on their list of priorities. Conclusions: The respondents mainly focus on professional and family lives. Very little focus is placed on reflectionand an integral approach to health. The analysis of research results highlights the challenges that education at each level, including health education, must face.Item Istota dylematu tożsamościowego zaufanie vs ryzyko we współczesnej rzeczywistości społeczno-kulturowej(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Peret-Drążewska, PaulinaThe aim of this article is the theoretical analysis of the situation of an individual existing in contemporary socio-cultural reality in the context of identity dilemmas, trust and risk. Considerations have been made about the nature of such categories as trust, risk, anxiety, and a sense of ontological security. The emergence of new thinking about language is directly associated with the tendency to shift from objectivity to subjectivity. To make the reconstruction of this change, I will discuss the selected elements of the structuralist theory of language and compile them with elements of the cognitive theory of language; for instance, classic categorization methods vs. natural categorization, taxonomic definingvs. cognitive defining. The proposed comparative analyzes open up space to thinking about the measures that can be taken in order to create conditions conducive to revealing the real development potential of a child in the process of education.Item Komunikacja międzykulturowa jako pomost ku integracji społecznej w środowisku wielokulturowym(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Bogucka, KatarzynaThe article focuses on intercultural communication, which creates a passage from a multicultural environment towards social integration and intercultural relations. The firstpart focuses on theoretical opinions on the relationships of culture and education. Pedagogical thinking about culture is dominated by its humanistic understanding, in which a special sense of culture has been understood as one of the top of human achievement. In traditional pedagogical reflection, there is noticeable concentration on culture as “valuable for educational interactions”. In such a perspective, the space of popular culture is ignored. Perceived as a bad Mr. Hyde of cultural space, it is treated as an area of threats to the development of children and youth. But culture is not only a canon of the achievements of past generations. In the anthropological sense, these are simply the ways of living a life in a society. Popular culture is the space where various aspects are commented on. Popular art plays a special role here. The second part discusses the pop cultural texts that illustrate the characteristic elements of utopia: burial of the “old world”, establishing a “perfect” order, protection against external destruction and against destruction from inside. Formed at different times and based on different means of expression, they address the dilemmas associated with thinking about a “better world”. They present the mechanisms and consequences of building a new society “with their own language”.Item Propozycja narzędzia do pomiaru natężenia poczucia zagrożenia stereotypem wśród dzieci, opracowanego na podstawie koncepcji multizagrożeń Jenessy Shapiro i Stevena Neuberga(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Borsich, Szymon; Deptuła, MariaScientificmagazines have published hundreds of research papers on stereotype threat. They indicated that despite their intellectual potential some individuals may experience lower performance in school tasks because of the fear of confirminga stereotype about the low abilities of their social group. Most of the research was of an experimental nature, with the use of a single manipulation within the experiment group and comparing its results to those of the control group. Additionally, despite two decades of research, discrepancies in how the term is definedor in the manipulation and measurement methods persist. The article outlines the development of a tool for measuring the intensity of a sense of low abilities stereotype threat among elementary school pupils (grades IV-VI) and the results of a pilot study. The scale was developed based on the theoretical assumptions of Shapiro’s and Neuberg’s multi-threat concept, which appears to put in order the aforementioned discrepancies in understanding the phenomenon’s essence and the ways it is measured.Item Przyszli nauczyciele wobec hipotetycznych epizodów przemocy rówieśniczej wśród uczniów(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Tłuściak-Deliowska, AleksandraSubstantive preparation but also the beliefs and attitudes of prospective professionals to important social issues are essential for their later work in the education sector. Some of the theoretical insights provided by the functional, systemic and interpretative perspectives are identifiedin order to depict the discussion around the continuity and change within the political socialization research. Whereas in the firstperiod of political socialization research the aim was to explain the continuity in the development of political orientations, it was later forced to account for modificationand the potential for change (especially when addressing the interpretative issues of identity politics). After describing the field’stheoretical shifts, the life-course model of political socialization is presented. The life-course model attempts to deal with the problem of continuity and change in the political socialization process, pointing to its remarkable complexity and lifelong flexibility. It offers a systematic, interdisciplinary and holistic way of conceptualizing political socialization. It points to the importance of political socialization research in demonstrating interdependence between objective functions of the political system and subjective political learning of a reflexive individualItem Sprawozdanie z IV Międzynarodowego Kongresu Profesjologicznego „Człowiek i przestrzeń pracy w kontekście nauk o pracy” Zielona Góra, 19-20 czerwca 2017 roku(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Michalak-Dawidziuk, JoannaItem Sprawozdanie z IV Międzynarodowej Konferencji Naukowej „Edukacyjny i społeczny świat dziecka” Poznań, 26-27 kwietnia 2018 roku(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Al Azab-Malinowska, Syma MartaItem Item Stosowanie mediów cyfrowych w edukacji wyższej – konfrontacja opinii nauczycieli akademickich i studentów(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Klimas, PatrycjaRecommendations made by policy makers, increasing competitive pressure and growing popularity of digital media among participants of teaching processes contribute to their increasingly extensive use at Polish universities. The fact that the teaching processes has entered the new, digital dimension reveals the need for information concerning the relevance of use of electronic media, especially from the perspective of achieving learning outcomes. Given the above, the purpose of this paper is to present results of research on opinions of both students and academics on the need and significanceof the application of digital media in the learning processes. For the purposes of the article, a quantitative research was conducted among 86 students and 66 teachers from University of Economics in Katowice. The data was collected in April 2015 using an online surveying technique and analyzed using statistical description. In the light of our results, the application of electronic media seems to not only be imposed by macro- and micro-environmental conditions, but also to be expected by the main participants of educational processes taking place at university level. The results show that both groups of respondents consider the use of digital media at least as advisable for the achievement of learning outcomes (71.8% of responses covered labels: advisable, recommended or required). However, the level of necessity is slightly higher when digital tools are used by students (80.7%) than by teachers (70.3%). In general, multimedia presentations have been identifiedas the most required form of digital media application in teaching at the universityItem Symbole w społeczności regionu Zagłębia Dąbrowskiego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Walancik, MarekThe author attempts to characterize the region of Zagłębie Dąbrowskie, a region on the border between Silesia and Lesser Poland in geographical and cultural sense. For the fundamental rights of the child not to remain merely theoretical, but to become concrete and meaningful, it is important to provide them with effective judicial protection. This issue is more than ever topical, with the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child establishing a procedure for the submission of communications, which entered into force on 14 April 2014. This new Optional Protocol gives children the right to appeal to the Committee on the Rights of the Child when the rights protected by the Convention and its firsttwo protocols are violated. The purpose of this brief study is to analyze the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (African Charter), adopted in 1990, which is the firstregional legal text for children specificallyand as such unique, since no other region in the world has so far developed such a protection mechanism.Item Tożsamość jako zadanie – narracja emancypacyjna(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Leppert, RomanAt the basis of the distinguished narrative regarding identity as a task there is the emancipatory interest, distinguished by J.
