In order for parents to get more involved with children’s education, a better communication must be established between parents and teachers in kindergartens. Effective communication between families and kindergartens is frequent and bidirectional, instills a sense of shared purpose, and works toward mutually advantageous solutions to problems. The aim of this paper is to build and effective communication system between teachers and parents in the kindergarten. Therefore, the current work will focus on the collaboration between teachers and parents, which consists in two main elements: (1) Partnership which presents the parties involved with special challenges that must be navigated unto agreement. (2) Communication which is defined as working level of partnership, e.g. activity of conveying information through the exchange of ideas, feelings, intentions, attitudes, expectations, perceptions or commands.Item Dlaczego Polacy nie są innowacyjni? Konteksty socjopedagogiczne(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Przyborowska, BeataInnovation and being innovative are very important in different areas of our life. Reports indicate that Poland is characterized by little innovation. In this text I am focusing on the subjective dimension of innovation, which translates into a collective innovation, thus building innovation in all spheres of society. I wonder why Poles are not innovative as a society yet declare and manifest innovation at the individual level.Item Działalność Ministerstwa Wyznań Religijnych i Oświecenia Publicznego w dwudziestoleciu międzywojennym na rzecz międzynarodowej współpracy intelektualnej(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Kula, Ewa; Pękowska, MarzenaThe aim of the present study is to show the international scientific cooperation, undertaken and carried out in the interwar period (1918:1939) by the Polish Ministry of Religious Affairs and Public Education in the framework of bilateral cooperation agreements on intellectual property. The presented model is only a certain variation of the already applied educational practices, which stem from the need for global actions aimed at improving the present ecological situation of the world. The achievement of the latter is conditioned by a change of attitudes towards the natural environment, which in turn is possible with the introduction of a system of suitable and well!linked educational endeavors.Item Kompetencje społeczne studentów kierunków technicznych i społecznych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Wierzejska, JoannaDynamic changes on the contemporary job market mean that higher education institutions graduates need to meet high requirements. Employers highly appreciate not only the so-called hard competencies, namely professional skills required in a given profession, but also social competencies necessary for effective teamwork. The studies conducted so far have revealed that higher education institutions graduates lack social competencies and that therefore there is a need to examine the level of competencies among graduates of technical and social faculties. This analysis will offer not only cognitive qualities, but also practical guidelines for university education planners. The study has been conducted among graduates of different faculties at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. The research made use of the Social Competence Questionnaire prepared by A. Matczak. The questionnaire allowed the author of the study to establish three areas of university students’ competences: situations of social exposure, situations requiring assertiveness and situations of close interpersonal contact. The research findings have revealed low and very low competencies of graduates, including both general competencies and competencies in respective scales. There are no significant differences in the assessment of these competencies among the graduates of technical and social studies.Item Mediacja jako szansa pojednania sprawcy i ofiary przestępstwa w sprawach z zakresu prawa karnego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Matysiak-Błaszczyk, Agata; Rajewska de Mezer, JoannaMediation is a result of searching for new, rational alternative means of responding to crime and methods to include a wider range of the victims’ interests. The aim of mediation is the settlement and reconciliation between the victim and the offender. It is based on negotiations between the mediator, an impartial observer. Parties involved in the mediation process should be able to openly and honestly express their views and feelings and to proceed a voluntary, negotiated conflict-free way to redress the damage caused by the offender in the presence of a mediator.Item Między asymilacją kulturową a pedagogiką różnicy. Doradca zawodowy w warunkach zróżnicowania kulturowego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Gromkowska-Melosik, AgnieszkaThe article attempts to analyze the problems of vocational counseling in a multicultural society. This problem applies in particular to the countries and societies with a traditionally diverse ethnic strucure, such as, for example, the United States, Canada or Australia. It is expected that in the near future – because of the influx of immigrants from the Third World to areas hitherto culturally homogeneous – this problem can become global. In this context, it is believed that the contextualization of the career of each person in its own cultural conditions of life and cultural identity is necessary. Logically, education of “multicultural counselors” should include: increasing intercultural awareness, extending the scope of knowledge concerning other cultures and the development of a “culturally sensitive competence”.Item Miejsce „pedagogiki szkolnej” w naukach o wychowaniu. Anglosaskie dyskusje i kontrowersje(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Nowakowska-Siuta, RenataContemporary pedagogical debates demonstrate a lack of good conclusive definitions of school pedagogy. School pedagogy in many concepts is seen as the art of teaching and applies to styles and methods of teaching used by the teacher. The article presents 20th-century and contemporary debates of Anglo-Saxon theoreticians of education concerning the understanding of the term school pedagogy. The author aims to answer the question what term school pedagogy can be substituted with.Item Możliwości i ograniczenia osób z zaburzeniami spektrum autyzmu w realizacji własnych wizji dorosłości(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Szmania, LidiaThe article attempts to show different ways of perceiving one’s own adulthood by ASD persons. Analysis of relevant literature and autobiographies of ASD persons helped indicate both possibilities of them realising their life plans and limitations they encounter on the way.Item O poznańskiej (i nie tylko) pedagogice społecznej(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Matysiak-Błaszczyk, Agata; Włodarczyk, Ewa; Modrzewski, JerzySocial pedagogy in Poland already has a history of over a hundred years, with its roots in the positivist and socialist reflection of the socio-philosophical turn of the 20th century. Helena Radlinska is rightly credited with its problematization, theoretical and academic institutionalization; she was also the organizer and promoter of the Lodz and Warsaw scientific community. In the second half of the twentieth century other scientific communities were formed and continued some of her practice according to the paradigm proposed by Radlinska, as a praxeological science. These are teams of educators in Katowice, Torun, Bydgoszcz, Olsztyn, Szczecin, Opole, Bialystok, etc., initiating its presence in the rapidly developing centers of academic science and teaching. Against this background, the authors of this article reveal the genesis, original characteristics, development, achievements, and prospects of Poznan-based social pedagogy at the turn of the 21st century.Item Pedagog wobec gentryfikacji. Konsekwencje przemian społeczno-przestrzennych współczesnego miasta dla funkcjonujących w nim środowisk wychowawczych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Baryczkowska, AgnieszkaGentrification is increasingly mentioned among the processes that transform the contemporary city. The term denotes a series of transformations of social and economic, occurring in neglected urban areas due to the influx of new residents with a high socio7economic status. The article focuses on the consequences of gentrification for local educational systems, particularly for those operating in schools and neighborhoods.Item "Podobnie niedostosowani, a mimo to różni”. Polaryzacje samooceny w grupie wychowanków Młodzieżowych Ośrodków Wychowawczych i Socjoterapeutycznych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Wysocka, Ewa; Ostafińska-Molik, BarbaraThe article analyses the level and aspects of self-assessment (general non-specific self-assessment, global specific, partial non-pecific self-assessment: physical, cognitive and intellectual, characterological, social and moral) of socially maladjusted individuals, with the use of the k-means clustering, a method of clustering most often used in the taxonomic practice. During the analysis three clusters of self-assessment were identified, defined initially as: negative “reflected I” (“I am the worst”), positive “defensive I” (“I am the best”) and “undefined, shaky I” (“Who am I”), differing as to level and inner ordering of individual self-assessment type. A description was made of the three identified clusters and an initial interpretation of the mechanisms of development of the individual types of the “I image”, indicating practical uses of the method applied for designing re-socializing activities used with respect to the groups identified.Item Post-subkultury i tożsamość młodzieży współczesnej: tyrania tymczasowości?(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Melosik, ZbyszkoThis text is devoted to the concept of subculture and tribalism, which enable a new interpretation of the way of organizing young people’s everyday life. It seems that in contemporary reality an affiliation of an individual to a subcultural group – in the context of the possibility of obtaining social success - is excessive. A person who consistently identifies with oriented resistance, rebellion, or creates an alternative world group is in practice excluded from mainstream culture and career. It is true that modern society seems to tolerate almost any difference, but it is by no means so-called “cold tolerance”. The marginalization of persons belonging to the subculture is done by silent mechanisms of ignorance. At the same time belonging to a subculture usually requires the reconstruction of one’s own identity, including the stringent requirements of the group, both in terms of value systems and everyday lifestyles. It is not difficult to notice that in contemporary world lifelong relationships and coalitions, “brotherhood of arms” and close ties disappear increasingly. They are replaced by sometimes ad-hoc configurations of tribal character, directed to fight with another tribe, created in the same way, or to the implementation of a specific “interest”. At the same time, these configurations are temporary, sometimes even makeshift.Item Refleksyjność studentów pedagogiki(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Perkowska-Klejman, AnnaThe study investigates the development of reflective thinking by undergraduate and postgraduate pedagogy students. The theoretical foundation is based on Dewey’s, Mezirow’s and Magolda’s reflection construct. Based on these theories, Kember theorized that reflective thinking may be categorised into four distinct stages: habitual action, understanding, reflection, and critical reflection. A reflective thinking questionnaire was completed by 300 students from a Pedagogy Faculty. Participants were first-year undergraduate, third-year undergraduate and second-year postgraduate university students. The Anova test found significant differences in scores for understanding and critical reflection.
