Item 6-latek jako pierwszoklasista w szkole. Zróżnicowanie kodów językowych dziecka, rodziny i szkoły – dla kogo szansa, dla kogo zagrożenie?(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Matejczuk, Joanna; Nowotnik, Anna; Rękosiewicz, MałgorzataThe article offers another view in the discourse concerning the lowering of school age. We take into consideration the consequences of children’s diversity in terms of the language functioning for their needs, opportunities, and ways to deal with school reality. Our analysis is based on Basil Bernstein’s concept of linguistic codes (1980a and 1980b). Such an interpretation of the phenomenon aims to help to identify the role of the school’s effi ciency of language codes management targeted at six-year-olds. Our aim is to identify the key challenges and tasks facing the school in dealing with the admission and teaching of children with diverse linguistic skills.Item 6-latki ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi na starcie szkolnym. Studium różnicy płci w kontekście reformy oświaty(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Buchnat, Marzena; Chmura-Rutkowska, IwonaInitiators of the most socially negotiated changes under the current reform of the education system, including the lowering of school age to 6, indicate “bridging the education gap” as one of the advantages of an earlier education. In fact, there is no critical refl ection and discussion on how the education system responds to the diversity of children’s needs and identifi ed areas and risk factors of educational failures on the threshold of school. In the text we pay special attention to two important issues overlooked in the ministerial discourse: a risk factor for school failure defi ned as special educational needs (SEN) and the problem of differentiation of the level of preparedness, experience and school achievements of children based on gender, with particular regard to socioemotional development.Item Anthropological perspectives on democratic citizenship education and globalization(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Cervinkova, HanaThe author draws on recent North American scholarship in the anthropology of education to show emerging trends in research on school-based democratic citizenship education. She gives examples of research, both at the level of national policies and individual schools, which addresses ways in which global and local infl uences interact in the creation and implementation of programs on democratic citizenship.Item Baśnie i odtwarzanie asymetrycznych relacji płciowych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Śmiałowicz, KatarzynaThe article focuses on the concept and principle of children’s favourite fairy tales. The cultural norms represented in fairy tales play an important role in the socialization processes of the child who reads them since they contain shared beliefs about gender roles and behaviour expectations. The author analyses the content of the most popular fairy tales and their psychological interpretations.Item Determinanty jakości w indywidualnym poradnictwie zawodowym(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Szłapińska, JoannaGood quality vocational counselling is a subject of interest to numerous advisory institutions and vocational counsellors alike. Lifelong vocational counselling is both an intrinsic ingredient of human advancement and a stimulus promoting lifelong education. Assistance offered to individuals on their way to successfully recognise and pursue their careers in the ever more complex, postmodernist world has become a serious challenge to vocational counselling. Therefore, the ultimate objective of advisory service is to provide proper lifelong vocational counselling. Its quality is determined both by the level of clients’ satisfaction and the effectiveness of services provided by advisory institutions as well as vocational counsellors’ effi ciency. The following article focuses on problems relating to quality determinants in individual vocational counselling. The single most important subject of the present work is the process of individual counselling as well as the crucial competencies of the service-providing counsellors.Item E-learning jako nowe środowisko edukacji: spotkanie ucznia i nauczyciela(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Kaliszewska-Czeremska, Katarzyna; Matejczuk, JoannaThe aim of this article is to present issues associated with the application of e-learning in the fi eld of education. We presume that the effi cacy, safety, and social perception of e-learning largely depend on its users, i.e. on students and teachers. The greater the willingness and competence of learners and educators to responsibly and creatively apply this method in the education process, the greater the chances of maximizing profi ts and minimizing risks connected with the use of distance learning at different levels of education. We narrow down the issue of willingness to the sphere of self-regulation, an indispensable factor in the process of becoming a conscious learner who is committed to and responsible for his or her own education according to the concept of Lifelong Learning. Availing ourselves of Julius Kuhl’s theory of action control (1987) we demonstrate how certain intrinsic predispositions of students and teachers, related to the implementation of their intentions, may determine a successful application of e-learning methods and, in consequence, foster the process of lifelong learning and support the ability to adapt to ever-changing external conditions.Item ERICH DAUZENROTH, Janusz Korczak. Życie dla dzieci, Wydawnictwo WAM, Kraków 2012, ss. 185 (Recenzje i noty)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Rudnicki, ZbigniewItem Iluzje inkluzji? Uczniowie ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi w placówkach oświatowych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Cytlak, IzabelaThis article addresses a signifi cant problem of the inclusion of the pupils with special educational needs in mainstream institutions. Although many years have elapsed since the 1970s, when many countries fi rst began to speak about the idea of integration and inclusion of people with disabilities and those with special needs into social life, there are still problematic situations hindering or even preventing the implementation of the idea of inclusive education (the social aspect is one of the most diffi cult to implement). As researchers note (e.g. Pijl, Meijer, Brzezińska, and Ainscow), there are still many issues that require assistance here. The following refl ection is an attempt to determine the specifi c aspects of the pupil with special educational needs, the teacher, the parent and fi nally the wider educational institution concerning the most problematic issues of inclusive education. The text also indicates the basic guidelines for coping in diffi cult situations.Item Informacje o autorach(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013)Item Kapitał społeczny a osiągnięcia szkolne ucznia(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Radoła, MirosławThe main goal of this article is to defi ne the relation between social capital and pupils’ educational achievements. The text also touches upon the subject of school selection. It defi nes the idea of social capital and shows its relation to pupils’ educational achievements. The authors make an attempt to formulate conclusions and postulates which appeared during the reading of literature and materials concerning research conducted in this area.Item Kazimierz Przyszczypkowski, Polityczność (w) edukacji(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Polak, Beata Anna (oprac.)Item Menadżer – przywódca. Uwagi o roli dyrektorów szkół w zarządzaniu zmianami(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Szafran, JoannaChange is an inevitable part of contemporary reality. The quick pace of life, civilization change and the constant pursuit in not fully known direction can be a worry, but also an opportunity. Complex everyday reality puts education in front of a new challenge. To meet them schools should constantly evolve. Awareness of these trends is a necessary condition for effective leadership. The essence of the deliberations conducted here are thoughts on the role of school principals in the process of change management. Making change is not easy. It requires knowledge of specifi c procedures, understanding the specifi cs of human behavior and ways to overcome the resistance. Roots of developed solutions and patterns of behavior in the organizational culture of the school are also important. The level of knowledge concerning change management and leadership competencies for managers working in education fi eld can serve as the basis for their professional success or failure.Item Partnerstwo w samorządowej polityce oświatowej(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Przyszczypkowski, Kazimierz; Cytlak, IzabelaAnalysis of the various documents of the local self-government education indicates that we deal with the evolution of activities concerning the importance of education. At the beginning of the transition period (1990s), local governments indicated mainly fi nancial diffi culties in acquiring education. Thinking about education only in terms of government responsibility was predominant. The main threat to self-government education was then and is now a tendency to unifi cation. One the one hand, it expresses itself by being obedient to the directives and guidelines of the Ministry of Education, on the other hand, in thinking about education in electoral terms. Therefore the focus on short-term spectacular and low-risk activities that do not cause social confl icts. A long-term perspective is slowly but steadily more and more present in local government educational policy in recent (3-4) years. We can observe a clear diversifi cation of activities in the fi eld of fi nancial regulation on self-government education. There is also a growing awareness of the need for fi nancially supporting the education of local extra-budgetary funds (so-called EU funds). The widely promoted idea of an education partnership is an import task for self-government education. This idea may be the basis for connecting current educational issues in local communities with long-term problems. Even though the Polish school continues to be “an isolated island”, it becomes more and more a self-government, community-based school but not in all areas of its functioning.Item Poczucie dobrostanu i optymizmu życiowego kadry kierowniczej placówek oświatowych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Cieślińska, JustynaThe expectations of modern educational institutions led to changes in the nature of the school headmaster’s work. The contemporary headmaster is a versatile manager, who has an interdisciplinary knowledge and diverse competences. What has changed, also at an economic level, is the perception of school leadership, where traditionally the headmaster’s primary role used to be planning, enforcement and control. Nowadays, the pro-social perspective has become the main value. A sense of well-being and optimism in life are inseparable elements associated with each person’s life, even though they assume different values depending on the circumstances and psychological predisposition. A high sense of well-being has a positive impact on professional work, relationships with others, and overall health. Well-being is clearly related to optimism, which is an important personal resource directly affecting health, well-being and success in life. Optimism determines our behavior, impacts an attitude towards ourselves, builds a high level of self-esteem and relations with other people.Item Przed jakimi wyzwaniami stoi dzisiaj szkoła?(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Brzezińska, Anna Izabela; Ziółkowska, BeataIn the era of transformation changes infl uence all generations and all spheres of life. Yet it seems that those who experience their consequences the most are middle-aged adults and the elderly, i.e. the generations that are responsible for rearing and educating the youngest citizens. The changes, which can be described in terms of increasing heterogeneity, ambiguity and mobility, constitute a signifi cant driving force for progress. However, at the same time they may also become a source of anxiety as well as of a sense of threat and alienation. In the present article we discuss the directions and quality of changes that ought to be introduced in the education system in order to secure stable (but not infl exible) foundations for students, guaranteeing their safe start for the future and unconstrained functioning in conditions that are still hard to defi ne at the moment. In our opinion, creating opportunities for all the participants and clients of educational institutions to experience different roles, both within and outside of these institutions (in the social environment of a school), is of crucial importance for the process of introducing the above changes. Additionally, it appears vital to employ a project approach, teamwork with groups of various sizes and state-of-the-art information and communication technologies as basic aids of education.Item Sprawozdanie z konferencji naukowej. „Ideologiczne uwikłania systemów edukacyjnych”. Badanie komponentu emocjonalnego postaw(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Pawełczyk, Piotr; Jankowiak, BarbaraThe liberal democracy assumes that the most crucial factor of system legitimization, the issue of common political participation, especially electoral activity. Realizing this goal is possible through creating the attitudes of participation, mostly among the generation starting the adult life. One of the goals realized on various stages of educational teaching programs is increasing social and political engagement of teenagers, creating citizenship attitude and as a result increasing active participation of the youth in politics. Creating emotional side of the attitude- not only in relations to the politics- is far easier than cognitive or behavioral component. In the subject literature the impact of emotions on creating the attitudes is widely described. In the object literature the role of emotions in creating the attitudes (also political ones) is widely described. Positive emotions in many cases are the conditions for certain behaviours towards attitude objects. It might be assumed that positive feeling about politics and political institutions will result in greater effectiveness in the sphere of political society. This thesis analyses the conditions of students attitudes towards politics and dependencies between experienced emotions and the issues including political engagement, citizenship attitude, nationalistic attitude. The thesis shows mutual changes between them. The question which has been also analyzed is the issue of political socialization subjects in creating positive feelings about politics. The results of the analyses performed showed dominating role of media in creating emotional attitudes towards politics as not traditional socialization agendas such as family, school or church. The results obtained present also what personal and sociodemographic features of the questioned are linked to their positive emotions in the researched area. The most crucial personal property appeared to be optimism, while sociodemographic variable is parents educationItem Teacher journal as a research instrument (research – the first year in the life in primary school through the eyes of novice teachers)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Wiegerová, AdrianaThe paper offers authentic statements of teachers and analyses problem situations in adaptation of teachers in the school terrain. Critical events are viewed through statements of novice teachers in interviews and in diaries of teachers. Teachers kept diaries throughout the fi rst year in the primary school.
