Item CERAMIKA GRAFITOWA Z OSTROWA TUMSKIEGO W POZNANIU(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Ruminiecka, Julia; Sikorski, Andrzej; Wenzel, JuliaThe article’s objective is to present the first graphite goods found at the princely part o f the Poznań stronghold. Pottery fragments, a disc with a hole made o f graphite sherd, and spindle whorl have been discovered at the foundations o f the Mieszko I palatium, next to the remains o f a goldsmith’s workshop. Relatively straightforward stratigraphy, despite later destruction caused by numerous construction phases o f the Sacred Mary Church, along with accompanied artifacts from the layers, make possible to date these finds to the period stretching from the 10 -1 1th to the 12th 13th centuries and regard them as ‘imports’ from the south. Besides the 12th century settlement at Szeląg, this is the second site in Poznań where this characteristic type o f pottery has been found.Item CHRONOLOGIA PÓŹNYCH FAZ KULTURY DNIEPRO-DONIECKIEJ NA BIAŁORUSI W ŚWIETLE NAJNOWSZYCH OZNACZEŃ RADIOWĘGLOWYCH ZE STANOWISKA PRORVA 2, REJON ROGACZOWSKI(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Jaziepienko, Igor; Jóźwiak, BartoszThe paper presents an analysis of the newest radiocarbon dates from Prorva, site 2 in the Rogaczów region. It provides a basis for the chronological studies of the Dnieper-Donetz culture in Byelorussia.Item CMENTARZYSKO Z WCZESNEGO OKRESU EPOKI BRĄZU: SZCZECIN-PŁONIA (BUCHHOLZ, KREIS GREIFENHAGEN), STANOWISKO 2(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Kozłowska, DorotaThe article presents all available data from the early Bronze Age eponimic settlement at Szczecin-Plonia, site 2 (earlier Buchholz, Kreis Greifenhagen). Its first part comprises analysis o f all empirical materials collected before 1945, while the second is a study of materials from the excavations in the years 1993-1996.Item CZTERY MIĘDZYNARODOWE SESJE ZORGANIZOWANE PRZEZ KOŁO NAUKOWE STUDENTÓW ARCHEOLOGII DZIAŁAJĄCE PRZY INSTYTUCIE PRAHISTORII UNIWERSYTETU IM. ADAMA MICKIEWICZA W POZNANIU(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Bugaj, EwaKronikaItem DIE SCHILDFIBELN AUS DEM BEREICH DER DĘBCZYNO-GRUPPE(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Riese, TorstenImpressively decorated shield fibulae (Ger. Sehieldfibeln), used from phase C2 until phase C2/C3), belong to the most elaborated metal artifacts from the Late Roman Iron Age. They have been used by communities living in Scandinavia, on the Elbe lowlands as well as by society o f the Dębczyno group in Pomerania and the Cecele phase o f the Wielbark culture. The paper is an attempt o f a thorough chronological analysis o f these fibulae from the Dębczyno group along with the burial assemblages in which they had been found. It is suggested that these adornments were an element o f the women dress decoration as they have been found mostly in rich burials. It is argued that presence o f the shield fibulae on this territory is indicative o f wide contacts o f the Late Roman Iron Age elite with Scandinavia and the Elbe lowland region.Item DYSTRYBUCJA MARMURU PROKONNESKIEGO U WYBRZEŻY ZACHODNIEJ I PÓŁNOCNEJ CZĘŚCI MORZA CZARNEGO W OKRESIE RZYMSKIM WCZESNOBIZANTYJSKIM(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Grala, KatarzynaAutoreferat doktorskiItem HEINER SCHWARZBERG, BEMERKUNGEN ZU 50 JAHREN ARCHÀOLOGISCHER STADTKERNFORSCHUNG IN MAGDEBURG, ARCHÀOLOGISCHE BEITRÀGE, BAND 1, HALLE AN DER SAALE 1998, ss. 100.(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Michałowski, AndrzejRecenzjaItem HRABIANKI SZEMBEKÓWNY - PIONIERKI ARCHEOLOGII WIELKOPOLSKIEJ Z PRZEŁOMU XIX I XX WIEKU(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Fogel, JerzyArchaeological interests o f the Szembek earls from Siemianice near Kępno (southern Wielkopolska) have spread over many generations starting from the middle o f the 19th century until the present time. This is well exemplified by activities o f Jadwiga (1883-1939) and Zofia (1884-1974) Szembek. In the years 1897-1908, both sisters undertook systematic and model excavations o f the multicultural cemetery (-ies) at Siemianice near Kępno (Bronze Age 11, Bronze Age V - HaD; the Late La Téne - Early Roman Iron Age) and cemetery at Lipie near Kępno (Bronze Age V). Jadwiga Szembek excavated also multicultural settlement at Tarnowica near Jaworów (western Ukraine) in 1924 and 1927. An origin and development o f archaeological interests o f the Szembek sisters, along with a detailed analysis o f their field works, was reconstructed on the basis o f unpublished archive materials and old literature o f the subject. Assessment o f their achievements in this field, according to both previous and current criteria, made possible to support opinion by Prof. Józef Kostrzewski who rated the Szembek sisters among archaeologists o f the most outstanding merit before 1918.Item HUTNICTWO SZKŁA WE WSCHODNIEJ WIELKOPOLSCE OD XVII DO POCZĄTKU XIX WIEKU ((Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Mucha, MariaAutoreferat doktorskiItem KONFERENCJA ARCHEOLOGÓW „KULTURA JASTORFSKA NA NIZINIE WIELKOPOLSKO-KUJAWSKIEJ” Poznań, 19 marca 2002 r.(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Machajewski, HenrykKronikaItem KWESTIA BOGATYCH POCHÓWKÓW KOBIECYCH W ANTYCZNEJ TRACJI(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Hatłas, JerzyThe article discusses the most important opinions of Bulgarian scholars on rich women burials in ancient Thracia. The stamp is dated to the period between the end o f the 13th and the first half of the 14th century. This chronology is based upon its form and elements of its decoration. A legend inscribed on the stamp’s frame, informing that its belonged to James - a lector of the preacher order, made possible to identify a social status o f the owner along with his position in the Dominican structure. Unfortunately, neither connection between James and any concrete order nor whereabouts of his stay at Ostrów Tumski were recognized. These questions might be answered only after more detailed studies of the Dominican related archives are carried out.Item WCZESNONEOLITYCZNE FIGURKI ANTROPOMORFICZNE NA PRZYKŁADZIE NOWEGO ZNALEZISKA Z LIPNICY W WOJEWÓDZTWIE WIELKOPOLSKIM(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2004) Krzyszowski, Andrzeja fragment of clay figurine was found in a Band Pottery Culture pit at Lipnica near Szamotuły during rescue excavations o f the Y amai gas pipe ( 1996). It was probably painted and ornamented by vertically incised lines. Its compositional and formal attributes make us believe that this is a fragment o f anthropomorphic, freestanding and realistically represented figurine without steatopygic features. It was either an early Neolithic idol or toy. The figurine shows similarities to alike artifacts from Central European oecumene of the Band Pottery culture (in particular in the Lower Silesia and Germany), which are characterized by their slenderness and incised ornamentation. Additionally, the painting decoration is indicative of influences from south-eastern centers of the LBK (Ukraine and Moravia).
