Abstract
Zafer Senoçak jest niemieckim autorem tureckiego pochodzenia, zwolennikiem idei hybrydyczności, krytycznie przyglądającym się procesowi re-definiowania narodu niemieckiego po zjednoczeniu Niemiec w 1990. W swoich esejach (tomy Atlas des tropischen Deutschland (1992), War Hitler Araber? (1994) und Deutschsein. Eine Aufklärungsschrift (2011)) poddaje on analizie konstrukcję społeczeństwa niemieckiego jako tworu homogenicznego, dochodząc do wniosku, że jest ona anachroniczną fikcją, pozbawioną kontaktu z multikulturową rzeczywistością RFN. Senoçak odwołuje się do toczonych w Niemczech dyskusji dotyczących tożsamości oraz migracji, określających kryteria przynależności i definiujących obcego w sposób często stereotypowy.
Description
The article draws attention to Zafer Şenocak, a German writer of Turkish origin. It presents the main thesis of his essays written and edited between 1992-2011. They are a significant voice in heated German debates on integration and migration as well as a critical comment on the discussions about national and cultural identity. Şenocak explores the German longing for unity and homogeneity after the unification, which results in rejection of 'the others'. Emphasising the increasing ethnic plurality, he shows the obsolescence of the construction of 'Germanness' and suggests rethinking of national and cultural categories. The article ends with the analyse of Şenocak’s short story Der Griff hat einen Sprung to show how the writer plays with both, the Turkish as well as German stereotypes of each other.
