Abstract
Zagadnienie funkcji języka w kontekście teorii aktów mowy rozważane będzie w oparciu o funkcję fatyczną, której status jest niejasny: niektórzy badacze nie uznają jej za równorzędną innym funkcjom, ale za funkcję sekundarną, obecną w każdej wypowiedzi językowej. Termin został wprowadzony przez antropologa, Bronisława Malinowskiego do określenia swoistego porozumienia między ludźmi - „komunii fatycznej”. Termin ten przejął Roman Jakobson do określenia komunikatów, które służą nawiązaniu, podtrzymaniu lub zerwaniu kontaktu między uczestnikami aktu komunikacji. Rozumienia funkcji fatycznej możemy rozszerzyć o elementy, które umożliwiają rozmówcom kontrolowanie przebiegu interakcji, a także wpływają na przyjazną atmosferę, ułatwiającą komunikację. Powyższe rozważania teoretyczne posłużyły za punkt wyjścia do wyodrębnienia typów aktów mowy o funkcji fatycznej na bazie materiału językowego wywiadów telewizyjnych. Funkcja fatyczna jest zjawiskiem złożonym, wymagającym szczegółowej analizy i nie powinna kojarzyć się tylko ze skonwencjonalizowanymi formułami grzecznościowymi, których klasycznym przykładem jest telefoniczne halo. Akty mowy o funkcji fatycznej są zjawiskiem zasługującym na ujęcie ich w szerszym kontekście, z uwzględnieniem elementów parawerbalnych i niewerbalnych.
The issue will be considered on the basis of the phatic function, status of which is ambiguous: some researchers do not acknowledge it as equal with other functions, but as a secondary function, which is present in every statement. The term was introduced by the anthropologist Bronisław Malinowski to describe communication between people, in other words, the relation which was called “phatic communion”. The term was adopted by Roman Jacobson to describe the messages which are used to establish, maintain or break off the contact between participants of the communicative act. What is more, we can extend the understanding of phatic function by elements which enable the interlocutors to control the process of interaction and which also have an influence on the friendly atmosphere facilitating communication. The above theoretical discussion has served as a starting point to distinguish the types of phatic function speech acts, on the basis of language data collected from television interviews. The phatic function is the complex phenomenon which demands detailed analysis and which should not be associated only with the conventionalized formulas of politeness, a common example of which is halo. Phatic function speech acts are phenomena which deserve to be presented in the broader context, considering also paraverbal and non-verbal elements.
La question des fonctions du langage dans le contexte de la théorie des actes de parole a été décrite à la base de la fonction phatique, dont le statut n'est pas clair: certains chercheurs ne la considèrent pas comme une fonction égale à d'autres fonctions, mais comme une fonction secondaire, présent dans chaque événement de communication. Le terme a été introduit par Bronisław Malinowski pour déterminer la relation spécifique entre les individus, connue sous le nom «communion phatique». Roman Jakobson a repris ce terme pour identifier les messages qui sont utilisés pour entreprendre, maintenir ou rompre le contact entre les participants de l'acte de communication. La notion de fonction phatique comprend aussi des éléments qui permettent de contrôler le déroulement de l'interaction, et de créer une ambiance conviviale, facilitant la communication.La revue théorique a constitué le point de départ pour le classement des types d'actes de parole de fonction phatique, sur la base d'un matériel linguistique des interviews télévisées.La fonction phatique est un phénomène complexe nécessitant une analyse détaillée. Il ne faut pas l’associer uniquement aux formules conventionnelles de politesse, dont la formule allô constitue un exemple classique. Les actes de fonction phatique doivent être analysés dans le contexte plus large, en tenant compte des éléments paraverbaux et non-verbaux.
