<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="pl">Badania miały na celu eksplorację relacji ja cielesnego i funkcjonowania seksualnego w grupie pacjentek ginekologicznych z diagnozą Zespołu MRKH, to znaczy z hipoplazją lub aplazją macicy i pochwy. W badaniach wzięło udział 120 kobiet: 60 przynależało do grupy klinicznej, a 60 do grupy kontrolnej. W relacji siły ja cielesnego i funkcji seksualnych pacjentek ginekologicznych pośredniczą percepcja własnych genitaliów i kontekstualna samoświadomość obrazu ciała.

<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="pl">The research explored the relationship between the body self and sexual functioning in a group of gynecological patients with the diagnosis of MRKH Syndrome, i.e. with hypoplasia or aplasia of the uterus and vagina. It was conducted among 120 women with the use of questionnaires. 60 women constituted the clinical group and 60 were classified as the control group. Comparison of women with an inborn vagina, without a vagina (n = 24), and those with a neovagina (n = 36) displayed statistical differences regarding body self. Almost all assumed correlations between attachment styles and bodily self have been confirmed. The negative self-image of genitalia and greater body image self-consciousness during sexual contact with a partner were associated with a greater number of disturbances within the body ego. Physical self of women with MRKH didn’t correlate with their engagement in autoerotic behavior, but its disturbances were associated with dyadic sexual behavior and (partly) with sexual function. Genital self-image and contextual body image self-consciousness mediated the relationship of body self and sexual function in a group of gynecological patients.</dim:field>
