THE ASPIRATION TOWARDS THE SUP-PORT OF RELIGION BY SCIENCE Mutual relations between religion and philosophy/science do function in European culture from its very beginning. It has had been discussed in the age of early Christian polemics on the position of philosophy and philosophical praxis. Is this specific co-existence still possible after a the modern criticism of great metaphysical systems of the Middle Ages? Does there exist a meta-physical concept which constituted as an alternative answer to the charges put into discourse by Descartes (1596-1650) and Kant (1724-1804)? The will to answer these questions will be the main aim of following remarks. It will be realized through an attempt of describing the phenomena of penetration of religious concepts onto the field of literature. With other words, it means a closer view on the phenomena of metaphysics, religiosity of literature, and in effect maybe also the literary character of metaphysics and religion. The phenomena excites intellectually as well by the fact, that we may find in it a specific aspiration towards adopting the discoveries of natural sciences. On the ground of Polish literature a similar conglomerate of religion and metaphysics, literature and science is being usually related to the works of writers and poets of the so called Young Poland movement.plReligijne poszukiwania w literaturze.
