Children spend time in forests, meadows or on dunes, depending on the local ecosystem. Rain or shine, children and their teachers are always in the open air. In the natural environment kids are confronted with structures that make a strong impression on them and which they cannot experience in the world created by humans. Holistic education is a distinctive feature of forest kindergarten and its main goal, inseparably connected to the concept of alternative education institutions.
