Założone cele pracy badane są według metody opartej na układzie chronologiczno-problemowym. Pracę rozpoczyna pierwszy rozdział, opisujący zmiany, jakie następowały na przestrzeni wieków w stosunku religii chrześcijańskiej do wojny. Kolejny rozdział opisuje polskie tradycje posługi duszpasterskiej wśród wojska. Polska była państwem wieloetnicznym, wieloreligijnym. Rozdział trzeci zawiera charakterystykę struktury wyznaniowej i narodowościowej w armii, stosunku duchowieństwa katolickiego do mniejszości wyznaniowych i narodowych. Rozdział czwarty dotyczy struktury duszpasterskiej w okresie powstania wielkopolskiego, wojny polsko-bolszewickiej i okresu pokoju. Następnie omówione są wojskowe miejsca sakralne. Rozdział szósty poświęcony jest wojskowym rytuałom, obrzędom religijnym i ceremoniom. Pozaduszpasterska działalność kapelanów opisana jest w ostatniej części pracy. Przedstawiona w dysertacji kultura religijna Wojska Polskiego została w roku 1939 poddana próbie, z której mimo przegranej kampanii wrześniowej wyszła zwycięsko.The presented PhD dissertation researches into of the military history and soldier’s religiousness presenting the history of a military religious culture within one of military districts in the times of the 2nd Republic of Poland. The goals of the dissertation are researched into based on a chronological and problem-related structure method. The first opening chapter describes changes that occurred throughout centuries in the Christian religion’s attitude to war. The next chapter describes the Polish traditions of the ministry in the army. Poland was a multi-ethnic and multi-religion country. The third chapter contains the characteristics of the denomination and nationality structure in the army, the attitude of the Catholic clergy to ethnic and religious minorities. The fourth chapter presents the ministerial structure in the period of the Wielkopolska Uprising, the Polish and Bolshevik war and the period of peace. Military sacral places are then discussed. The sixth chapter is devoted to military rituals, religious practices and ceremonies. Non-ministerial activity of chaplains is the subject matter of the last chapter of the dissertation.
