Biblioteki zbadane zostały w trakcie wyjazdowego seminarium w Sibiu, trwającego od 27 września do 4 października 2014 roku. W tekście zaprezentowano historię, zbiory i misję publicznej Biblioteki Wojewódzkiej ASTRA i Uniwersyteckiej Biblioteki Centralnej im. Luciana Blagi. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono szkolnym centrom dokumentacji i informacji – nowej formie służby bibliotecznej. Zostały one powołane w celu wyrównania szans uczniów obszarów wiejskich i kształtowania obywateli przystosowanych do życia we współczesnym świecie, posiadających umiejętność korzystania z nowoczesnego dostępu do informacji.The article deals with Romanian libraries as information and multimedia centers at different level of education. The libraries and documentation centers were visited by the authors during a seminar in Sibiu between Sep. 27 and Oct. 4, 2014. The article presents the history, collections and the mission of the provincial ASTRA public library, affiliated with Lucian Blaga Central University Library. A particular attention is given to school Documentation and Information Centers – a new form of library services.
