Autor rozpatruje historię jako dyscyplinę znajdującą się pod silnym oddziaływaniem często rozbieżnych celów i interesów nauki, polityki i religii. Celem pracy jest zidentyfikowanie, ukazanie i przeanalizowanie zmian, jakie zachodzą we współczesnym myśleniu historycznym na skutek „zwrotu postsekularnego”, który manifestuje reakcję globalnej akademii na te zjawisko. Autor bada możliwe do uchwycenia w teorii historii „momenty postsekularne”, a także próbuje sformułować kategorie badawcze dla perspektywy, którą roboczo określa jako „historię postsekularną”. Autor udowadnia, że historia potrafi samodzielnie formułować stanowiska wobec zachodzących obecnie przemian społecznych, politycznych i kulturowych oraz wynikających z nich wyzwań. Praca sytuuje się w obrębie teorii historii, historii historiografii, historii intelektualnej i metodologii historii. Ważnym jej aspektem są tropiące kryptoteologiczne wątki analizy pisarstwa Haydena White’a, Dominicka LaCapry i Dipesha Chakrabarty’ego, a także zbudowane przez Autora kategorie badawcze: wydarzenia postsekularnego oraz postsekularnego reżimu historyczności.From the perspective of theoretical reflection on history, this thesis addresses the research challenges and adapt the achievements that have emerged in the humanities and social sciences as a result of the discussion on the observed contemporary return of religion and/or its new visibility in the public sphere. The author considers history as a discipline under the strong influence of the often divergent goals and interests of science, politics and religion. The purpose of the thesis is to identify, present and analyze the changes in contemporary historical thinking as a result of the "post-secular turn," which manifests the response of the global academy to the return of religion. The author examines the "post-secular moments" in the theory of history, and formulates research categories for a perspective that he describes as a "post-secular history." The author demonstrates that history can independently formulate positions in the face of current social, political and cultural changes and the challenges that result from them. The thesis is situated within the theory of history, the history of historiography, intellectual history and the methodology of history.
