W pierwszej części pracy zostają określone psychologiczne uwarunkowania badań uczuć oraz ich intencjonalny charakter. W drugiej części analizowana jest grupa uczuć pełniąca ważne funkcje etyczne. W trzeciej części zostają poddane analizie uczucia zmysłowe oraz nawykowe. W czwartej części analizowana jest grupa uczuć pełniąca ważne funkcje estetyczne. Brentano opisał wielką różnorodność uczuć, ukazując ich związek ze świadomością, intelektem, zmysłami, skłonnościami nawykowymi, etyką oraz estetyką z jednolitego punktu widzenia psychologii opisowej. Sposób rozważania uczuć jako części świadomości – przy jednoczesnym celowym abstrahowaniu od związków przyczynowych i uwarunkowań fizjologicznych – stanowi o specyfice koncepcji uczuć Franza Brentana. Filozof przedstawił uczucia z punktu widzenia psychologii opisowej (opisującej fenomenologii), zachowując przy tym miejsce na przyrodnicze badania nad uczuciami. Podsumowaniem rozprawy jest zestawienie trzech podziałów uczuć zawartych w dziełach Brentana oraz ich wzajemne połączenie, w wyniku którego zostaje sformułowana hierarchia uczuć od najgorszych negatywnych uczuć pozbawionych słuszności do najlepszych pozytywnych uczuć nacechowanych słusznością.Author of the dissertation attempts to present comprehensive issues of feelings contained in the works by Franz Brentano. In the first part of the dissertation were defined psychological conditions of research on feelings and their intentional character. In the second part feelings of a group that serves important ethical functions were analized. In the third part are analyzed sensual feelings and habitual feelings. In the fourth part is analyzed the group of feelings that serves important aesthetic functions. Brentano described the great variety of feelings and showed their relationship to consciousness, intellect, senses, habitual tendencies, ethics and aesthetics of a single point of view of descriptive psychology. The method of considering the feelings as part of the awareness – while deliberately disregarding the causal relationships and physiological conditions – is the specificity of the conception of feelings Brentano. Philosopher introduced the feelings from the perspective of descriptive psychology (describing phenomenology), while retaining the place for natural research on feelings.
