His position is formed in opposition to the exclusive and inclusive standpoint in theology of religion, which emphasizes the unique role in the process of salvation, played by the doctrine professed by us. However, J. Hick claims, that each religion is, to some extent true, since it is a response to the signal transmitted by the Transcendences. To justify his argument, he refers to Kant's division of reality into the noumenalnal and phenomenal spheres. He states that Transcendence is noumen, to which we do not have access, while each of the religions is the phenomenal manifestation of the Absolute. Therefore, he proposes to make a „Copernius revolt” in religion, which would be built on the fact, that in center of our spiritual life should be put the „ultimately real” (as he defines God), and the different religions, should be placed on the „orbits” around Him. In my article I would like to show which elements in Islam and Christianity allow pluralis-tic interpretations of these religions, and those that are exclusive or inclusive. In the case of Islam, the analysis give in particular the concepts of „people of the Book” or people who received reve-lation from God and therefore are protected by law. However, in discussing Christianity, I will focus on the Catholic doctrine, particularly the documents of the Second Vatican Council and the Declaration Dominus Iesus.plIslam i chrześcijaństwo w perspektywie pluralizmu religijnego Johna HickaArtykuł
