The techniques of negative emotions management implemented by reformatories are compared with emotional reactions popular among inmates. This article bases mainly on empirical data obtained by the use of qualitative methods. There were adopted techniques of quasi-participant observation, semi-structural interview carried among stuff and inmates and documents analysis.
