Główne jej cele to zapewnienie każdemu dziecku co najmniej podstawowego wykształcenia, zagwarantowanie wszystkim dzieciom dostępu i równych możliwości w nauce, przygotowanie do dorosłego życia oraz wzbudzenie motywacji do kontynuowania nauki. Problem równości w edukacji dotyczy przede wszystkim osób, które ze względu na swoje pochodzenie, rasę, płeć, status ekonomiczny lub społeczny napotykają na problemy w integrowaniu się ze środowiskiem szkolnym lub całym społeczeństwem. Kwestia nierówności często wiąże się z głęboko zakorzenionymi stereotypami oraz ze zjawiskiem samospełniającego się proroctwa. Artykuł jest próbą znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie o to, czy jeśli rozwój uczniów przebiega w różny sposób i zależy od wielu odmiennych czynników, to należy stosować wobec wszystkich takie same strategie edukacyjne.Education is defined as the influence which is to help a human being acquire living skills and new abilities. The main aims of the educational process are to provide each child with primary education and an equal access to it, while at the same time preparing students for adult life and encouraging lifelong learning. The problem of equality in education affects mainly the people who, because of their background, sex, race or socio-economic status, encounter difficulties in integrating with the school environment or the society. The issue of educational inequalities is related with deeply entrenched stereotypes and the self-fulfilling prophecy phenomenon.
