The transformation, concerning the last several years, was presented using the example of the village of Wolica, near Kalisz. The main data were obtained from a survey carried out among the local inhabitants. Additionally, the following information sources were used; cartographical maps and the planning and strategic documents of the commune of Godziesze Wielkie, being the territory on which Wolica is located. The results of the survey revealed that the suburbanisation of Wolica significantly changed the rural landscape.
