Rozprawa składa się z jedenastu rozdziałów, rozdział dwunasty stanowi podsumowanie pracy i omówienie perspektyw badawczych. Poza wstępem i wprowadzeniem terminologicznym, osiem dalszych rozdziałów poświęconych jest rozważaniom teoretycznym (rozdział 3: Rozważania muzykologiczne, rozdział 4: Historyczny przegląd roli pieśni i muzyki w różnych metodach nauczania języków obcych, rozdział 5: Glottodydaktyczna typologia pieśni, rozdział 6: Wykorzystanie pieśni i muzyki w nauce języka niemieckiego jako obcego, rozdział 7: O wykorzystaniu muzyki popularnej w nauce niemieckiego jako obcego, rozdział 8: O zastosowaniu muzyki klasycznej w nauczaniu języka niemieckiego jako obcego, rozdział 9: O wykorzystaniu kolęd na lekcji języka niemieckiego). Rozdziały 10 i 11 referują badania empiryczne, mające na celu zilustrowanie tez stawianych w części teoretycznej rozprawy. Wyniki badań potwierdziły przydatność i efektywność wykorzystanych utworów muzycznych nie tylko w pielęgnowaniu i wzbogaceniu własnej tradycji muzycznej czy tożsamości kulturowej uczącego, lecz również w rozwoju kompetencji interkulturowej.The subject matter of the present dissertation is the influence of songs and music on the development of intercultural competence in learners of German as a foreign language. The dissertation consists of eleven chapters and the twelve chapter is the summary and the discussion of research perspectives. Next to the introduction and the introduction of terminology, the following eight chapters are devoted to theoretical discussion (Chapter 3: Musicological considerations, Chapter 4: Historical review concerning the role of songs and music in different methods related to foreign language teaching, Chapter 5: Typology of song-related foreign language pedagogy, Chapter 6: The use of songs and music in the process of teaching German as a foreign language, Chapter 7: Of the use of pop music, Chapter 8: Of the use of classical music, Chapter 9: Of the use of Christmas carols at German classes). Chapters ten and eleven are related to the report on empirical research, the aim of which is to illustrate the theses put forward in the theoretical part of the present dissertation. The results of the research have confirmed the effectiveness and usefulness of the musical pieces used in the dissertation not only in cultivating and enriching musical tradition or the cultural identity of a learner, but also in developing intercultural competence.Die vorliegende Dissertation besteht aus elf Kapiteln. Das Kapitel 12 fasst die relevantesten Ergebnisse der Arbeit zusammen und liefert einen Ausblick auf künftigen Forschungsbedarf. Außer einer Einleitung in die Niederschrift und einer Bestimmung der grundlegenden Begriffe des interkulturellen Ansatzes, stellen die weiteren acht Kapitel die theoretischen Grundlagen dar (Kapitel 3: Musikwissenschaftliche Überlegungen, Kapitel 4: Lieder und Musik in der Geschichte des Fremdsprachenunterrichts, Kapitel 5: Glottodidaktische Typologie der Lieder, Kapitel 6: Zum Einsatz von Liedern und Musik im DaF-Unterricht, Kapitel 7: Zum Einsatz populärer Musik im DaF-Unterricht, Kapitel 8: Zum Einsatz von klassischer Musik, Kapitel 9: Zum Einsatz von Weihnachtsliedern im DaF-Unterricht). Im Kapitel 10 und 11 werden die Ergebnisse der empirischen Untersuchung referiert, die zum Ziel haben, die im theoretischen Teil abgeleiteten Untersuchungsthesen zu illustrieren.
