Abstract

God makes it possible through His grace for Christian marriage and family to be His sign in the world. Christians who are united by the Sacrament of marriage are witnesses of Christ, because, by being strengthened through His grace they love and forgive each other in a sacrificial way. Mutual love which is directed toward God and neighbor is the greatest guarantee of this form of striving for holiness, as it is emphasized in the documents of the present Magisterium. Christian married couples and families are accompanied by the promise of Christ concerning His presence through the Holy Spirit.
