    Picie kontrolowane – propozycja strategii pomocowych dla młodych dorosłych

    As statistics in Poland show, more and more younger people reach for alcohol and, what is more, they struggle to control their drinking. This often leads to a number of serious consequences for all health, economic, psychological, and social ones. They include beatings, injuries, loss of material property or even conflict with the law. Uncontrolled chemical intoxication may even lead to the long-term consequences which is e.g. addiction to alcohol. In some countries, they apply a form of assistance to people drinking in a risky way, and not only to them, which is aimed at the acquisition of skills for controlling alcohol consumption. There are used a number of methods and progressive stages of dealing with the client, so that he or she would learn controlled drinking. Therefore, not only this article briefly presents the causes and mechanisms of addiction resulting in the wide range of consequences, but also is the proposal for a strategy of assistance for young adults focused on the acquisition of skills in controlling the use of alcohol, as well as shows the results of the effectiveness of this form of assistance in some countries in the world.

    Nowadays blogs have been acquiring new functions. Apart from traditional blogs, one can see a growing number of blogs that have a didactic function. Blogs have been used more and more often by the teachers at different education levels in order to support and optimise the teaching and learning processes. Linking entertainment and teaching, they have become a place of unlimited possibilities for the students, where students can acquire new knowledge, develop their own interests and increase cognitive curiosity. Educational blogs that are used actively by the teachers can positively influence educational process and introduce students to self-education, thus preparing them to the process of lifelong learning in the future.

    In this article I described the idea of globalization, but I abandoned a strictly scientific analysis and treated the subject more contemplatively. I described not only the process, but also the values (connected with the culture of instant gratification, globalization and the cultural homogenization) and the orientation connected with it (consumerism, commoditization of human life) which shape the surrounding reality as well as ourselves. The question of identity, which is constantly shaping, is significant in this context. It is, just as globalization, fluid, unspecified and ambivalent. I endeavour to prove the hypotheses by adducing sociological, cultural and philosophical classic writers. The very last ones – fairly unexpectedly – become crucial to me and they let me analyse the human nature in postmodern reality holistically.

    Edukacja mniejszości romskiej w Polsce

    The Roma people make one of the ethnic minorities recognized in Poland. In comparison in education which is based on continuation of their tradition, the Roma education aims at making the transmission of Polish culture more easy. In Poland in the years 2004-2013 the "Programme for the Roma communities". Its most important element was education which makes a sort of challenge. The teacher has to organize the learning process in order to overcome many obstacles. It is necessary to motivate the pupils to work, to integrate the class despite the existing cultural differences, including the initiating cooperation with parents. Gaining trust of the Roma milieu is one of the most important elements having influence on the success of the enterprise of education of children coming from those minorities. It is also important to diminish the social distance of Poles towards them and to getting rid of prejudice and fighting existing stereotypes.

    Obraz ponowoczesnego świata z perspektywy współczesnej młodzieży

    Modern reality is ambivalent, heterogenous, ambiguous and unpredictable. The living conditions it creates aren’t easy for adolescing people forced to realize many developmental tasks. Among theese tasks is forming a mature vision of reality. This article presents the postmodern view of the world from the perspective of young people, based on research conducted on high school graduates. It shows young people as very reflective, critical towards certain aspects of postmodernity but at the same time, due to highly developed adaptational skills, able to find their place in the world and make use of its possibilities.

    The primary aim of the article is a discussion on the youth's orientation in the social aspects of life in theoretical and empirical perspective. The research subject raised in this article is to show the image of the today’s youths from the perspective of peers by the designation of some aspects, especially social orientations, that are being only fragments of the necessary conditions to seize the situation of young people.

The author shows how much importance they have for the practical dimension of this project’s rationale and theoretical assumptions.

    The aim of this paper is to analyse the infant prodigy discourse in popular Polish internet portals for parents. As a result of Critical Discourse Analysis, key rhetoric strategies, constructing the representation of a child and its family, have been identified. Subsequently, the analysis of particular discursive strategies, including professionalization of parenthood and discursive construction of a family as an entrepreneur of the self, have been conducted.

    Influence of Group Therapy in Psychodrama on the Attachment Style of Children at-Risk: Educational, Emotional, Social, and Behavioral Aspects

    Children at-risk are defined as children who may be found in physical, mental, or emotional situations of risk. Attachment theory assumes a connection between the origin family’s experiences and the attachment patterns in the relations with another person, and many research studies have found that the attachment between the parent and the child has a main role in the child’s normal development. The psychodrama group is one method of intervention that seeks to treat psychological and social problems through drama and provides the child with holding, security, and protection. The children act figures related to problems that trouble them and thus free themselves from distresses and drives and learn to see and understand the self and other people and to create beneficial patterns of behavior and attachment. Treatment with psychodrama has been found to be very effective in work with children who experience distress, both with themselves and with society.

    Endowment as an Educational Fundraising Tool for Entrepreneurial University: the U.S. Experience versus Ukrainian Reality and Perspectives

    Educational fundraising could pose significant challenges for Ukrainian universities in times of neoliberal ideology of contemporary educational reforms. The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis of the best fundraising practices in public US universities in order to implement them in the area of higher education in Ukraine. Examples and data published in a range of educational science journals as well as Ukrainian state laws are analyzed to highlight the purposes, features, and structure of university financial endowments. The article focuses on the “Triple Helix” model as one of the most effective schemes of university development. All things considered it can help Ukrainian universities carry on their social mission, funding various activities relating to education, research, and innovation.

    Historia i współczesność zapisane w języku. Pedagogiczne wędrówki po świecie związków frazeologicznych

    The article attempts to search for continuity between the past and the present inscribed in the language, using selected idioms as examples. The author presents idioms as a linguistic “transmitter” of culture reflecting the experiences of its users. The paper concludes with a few reflections on the role of language education and creating the linguistic awareness of the young generation. The author highlights the need to combine the knowledge of the history of traditional idioms and the knowledge of using new idioms created for advertising and media purposes to shape the attitudes and language activity of young people.

    Seksualność kobieca w Pięćdziesięciu twarzach Greya. Powieściowa fikcja soft-porno czy kulturowe przesunięcie?

    The purpose of my text is an attempt to define the context of the global fascination of super-bestseller, the book Fifty Shades of Grey – regardless of the fact that literary critics agreed that this is a novel very poor in every aspect. What makes this erotic-romantic story so exceptional, among others, to the extent that it meets with a huge “cultural vindictiveness”, entering into public discourse invasively, while hundreds of others – good or bad books are ignored? The main context of interest/fascination with the book Fifty Shades of Grey, in my opinion, is associated with putting again – and doing it radically – question about the permitted forms of female sexuality. Here we are dealing with a sudden shift – by the author – the debate in this area “a few miles ahead” and cancellation of several important tenets, including the dogma of women as innocent virgin, the dogma of women as mothers and wives but also feminist dogma of women socially and sexually liberated from the domination of men.

    A Comparison of Higher Education System between China and Ukraine

    This article compares the higher education systems between China and Ukraine, discusses some important peculiarities of the two, and points out the differences between the two. The purpose is to help us get a better understanding of the two countries’ higher education systems and to improve the educational exchange and collaboration of the two countries. Special attention is paid to structures of two universities, their facilities, rules of admission, the organization of studying process and some approaches, and levels of acknowledgements by governments which show us the differences and similarities between the two.
