Mitteleuropa, Trójmorze czy Międzymorze? W poszukiwaniu miejsca Polski w Europie Środkowej

Abstract

The author discusses uniqueness and idiosyncrasies of Central Europe his tory, wondering what is there for the contemporary Polish state to do in a region threatened by Russian expansionist policies. Three distinct ways of shaping Polish foreign, European, policy in this respect are examined: the Mitteleuropa concept, recognizing the dominance of Germany, the concept of a The Three Seas Initiative (Trimarium), acknowledging the dominant role of the US, and, last but not least, the Intermarium concept assuming independent leading role of Poland in the region. In the further part of the paper an author discussed prospects and challenges connected with these three visions of Polish foreign policy.
