Postaci dyskursu w perspektywie tworzenia i tłumaczenia „poetonimów”. Na podstawie polskiego i rosyjskiego przekładu sagi o Harrym Potterze

Abstract

W pracy doktorskiej autor podejmuje próbę określenia związku występującego pomiędzy działalnością dyskursywną uczestników procesu komunikacji literackiej a specyficznym statusem poetonimów (onimów literackich) w oryginalnym tekście literackim i jego przekładach. Pierwsza teza, którą autor stawia, brzmi następująco: działalność dyskursywna człowieka ma bezpośredni związek z tworzeniem, tłumaczeniem, jak również rozumieniem poetonimów. Poprzez drugą tezę postuluje, że poetonimy są imionami konceptów poetonomastycznych przez nie generowanych, odsyłając do najistotniejszych właściwości ich denotatów w oparciu o treść dzieła literackiego. Dlatego głównym celem autora pracy jest określenie dyskursywnej specyfiki tworzenia i tłumaczenia poetonimów, jak również strategii i technik osiągnięcia ekwiwalencji pomiędzy poetonimami zawartymi w anglojęzycznym tekście sagi o Harrym Potterze autorstwa J. K. Rowling i w polskim oraz rosyjskim przekładzie autorstwa, odpowiednio, Andrzeja Polkowskiego i Marii Spivak. Autor skupia się na aspekcie antropocentrycznym podejmowanego problemu, co uzasadnia tym, że poetonim jest strukturą werbalną, a odpowiadający mu koncept – mentalną. Oznacza to, że każdy koncept poetonomastyczny jest uwarunkowany przez indywidualność każdego z podmiotów procesu komunikacji literackiej, czyli uzależniony od ich przestrzeni dyskursywnych.

In the dissertation the author makes an attempt at determining the connections between discursive activity of participants of the process of literary communication and the particular status of “poetonyms” (literary proper names) in the original text and its translations. The first hypothesis put forward by the author is as follows: human discursive activity is directly related to creating, translating, as well as understanding poetonyms. By means of the second hypothesis he postulates that poetonyms are names of onymic concepts generated by the former that refer to crucial properties of their bearers on the basis of the contents of a literary work. Therefore, the core aim of the author is to determine the discursive specificity of creating and translating poetonyms, as well as the strategies and techniques of attaining equivalence between the poetonyms of the English text of the Harry Potter saga written by J. K. Rowling and its Polish and Russian translations by, respectively, Andrzej Polkowski and Maria Spivak. The author focuses on the anthropocentric aspect of the issue justifying it by the fact that a poetonym is a verbal structure, while its respective concept is a mental one. This means that each onymic concept is conditioned by the personality of each of the subjects of the process of literary communication, being dependent on their discursive spaces.
