Idioms as the means of text structuring
Abstract
The objective of the following article was to present the results of a study evaluating
among others the function of idioms preceding and closing text blocks, as well as forming a text
frame in feuilletons of the »Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung«. The conducted analysis was to discuss
whether idioms serve solely pragmatic purposes or whether they are also a means of text
structuring.
