W. Fiebig raises the essential problem of the decrease of cultivable land
area resulting from the developpment of town building and the growth of industry
and transport. In this situation the problem of a proper use of poorer farmland
stands out in full relief.
The author present the methods of estimating the value of the geographical
region as well as the soils and emphasizes the measurable methods giving quantitative
results. He also suggests a way of utilizing one category of poor soil by
wicker growing. The problem has been carefully dealt with regard to Poznań
district.
