Item Miejsce płacy wśród motywów podejmowania pracy przez kobiety w usługach rynkowych(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1978) Czternasty, WaldemarA significant development of many kinds of service activities, when also market services are understood by that, is determined on present stage of socio-economic development of Poland among others by subsequent growth of employment, especially of women, particularly predestined to work in this sphere of the economy. A level of a wage is an important determinant of directions of job taking up also by female labour force in the period of a deficit of labour force, appearing in the economy. Financial motives are still an important reason of women's professional activation. Meanwhile it can be ascertained on the ground of empirical data presented in the article, that a wage level in many kinds of market services shapes rather below levels in other spheres of economic activities employing a big percentage of women. The materials gathered from the questionnaires carried out among direct performers of the services allow to conclude, that a wage factor possesses insignificant role as a condition of taking up jobs by women. It constitutes, however, at the same time the most important factor influencing staff fluctuation in this sphere of economic activities. Even, however, a significant increas in a wages level in market services does not constitute a sufficient condition of „competitiveness" of these services in comparison with other, so called, feminized kinds of economic activities in the sphere of gaining female labour force. There occurs a necessity of parallel accomplishment of many different actions connected mainly with improvements in labour conditions. It should raise in consequence the attractiveness of working in market services and it should counteract an existing opinion on secondary character of works in many kinds of service activities.
