Item Czynniki wpływające na pozycję człowieka starego w rodzinie(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1987) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaThe article attempts to formulate the typology of factors influencing the position of an old man in the family. The typology is preceded by the analysis of factors which turned out to be of importance in the light of gerontological and sociological studies. The author suggests that the position in the family should be determined through: 1) the importance of the performed family roles; ;2) the scope of rights and duties; 3) the range of power; 4) the degree of authority, The analysis undertaken in the present article comprises three groups of factors: the economical factors, the family factors, and the social factors. To the group of economical factors influencing the position of an old man in the family belong: the level of income, housing conditions, material goods in the household, the level of savings', financial independence and the manner of keeping house. To the group of family factors belong: family status, house occupancy situation, satisfactory marital life, performed family rales, the participation in performing functions, the capability to render help and the degree of family integration. The third group of factors influencing the position of an old man in the family are social factors such as: employment activity, social activity (sociability), posts held in social and political organizations, participation An authorities, social and employment status. The results of studies, frequently referred to in the course of the analysis, indicated indirecitly that there are also other factors (other than those classified in the above (three groups) whose impact on the position of an old man in the family should be the object of separate studies. Such factors include cultural, psychophysical and individualistic factors. Generally speaking, the position of an old man in the family is not a staple transposition of his position lin the society. The decrease in the social position is compensated by the increase in the family position in effect of the activity performed in realizing family roles and functions'.Item Człowiek niepełnosprawny jako „inny" w ujęciu koncepcji socjologicznych i w świetle badań socjologiczno-psychologicznych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 1999) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaDespite such research on the genesis of social prejudice against handicaped people, there have not been found all the factors. Attitudes to handicaped people - according to the results of the research - are conditioned by numerous factors of social, cultural, demographical, economical and psychological type. They are also conditioned by handicaped people’s own attitude to their disabilities. Sociological research has proven that society creates many obstacles in social life of handicaped people. More painful for them are social obstacles than the architectonic ones. Psychological research concentrates on the genesis of social prejudice and its result. Society’s negative attitude to handicaped people results mainly from the lack of knowledge on the needs of those people. Painful is also the fact that children copy stereotypic behaviour of adults and play games with handicaped children rather unwillingly. The process of breaking stereotypes and prejudice has to base on bringing the new generation up in respect for handicaped people.Item Małgorzata Lesińska-Sawicka, Socjomedyczne korelaty późnego macierzyństwa. Studium socjomedyczne (Recenzja)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2012) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaItem MAŁŻEŃSTWO JAKO ZWIĄZEK, WSPÓLNOTA, INSTYTUCJA, PODSYSTEM I RODZAJ STOSUNKU SPOŁECZNEGO(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 1998) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaItem Pozycja zawodowa pracowników socjalnych i ich samopoczucie w zawodzie(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1995) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaIt is not easy to exercise the broadly understood role of a social worker in practice. The main difficulty is a rapid increase in the number of those who require help from social workers. On the one hand the poverty among the population is growing, on the other hand the demands and expectations from the social welfare institutions are also higher. Social workers are not adequately paid and yet they are given more duties which in effect leads to their tiredness and mental stress and their work is then often reduced to routine actions and mere provision of essential information and advice. Despite poor pay and low social prestige of the job, social workers feel good about the work which gives them satisfaction. The inconveniences of the job (which is also at times dangerous) and inadequate remuneration is compensated by acknowledgement, gratitude and appreciation of those who have received support and help.Item SAMOPOCZUCIE SPOŁECZNE OSÓB W STARSZYM WIEKU(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1999) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaThe analysis made by the Author in the article enables to state that social frame of mind of the elderly is strongly conditioned by a factor of an economic nature, first of all. A discontent with one’s own financial position because of the lack of savings and poor pensions - makes people feel uncertain what, consequently, increases their timidity and complaint. The second factor to determine expressively the above mentioned frame of mind is the health condition. A decrease of the health condition of the elderly noted in the research study is the reason of anxiety about the health and of constant trouble because of possibility of losing self-dependence in primary activities. And finally, the third factor which determines social frame of mind is the anxiety because of many threats that have emerged and then even increased during the 90ties in Poland. The social frame of mind of the elderly is being also characterised with factors of a cultural nature. The Polish old-age pattern is marked with an excessive dependence of an elderly on the system of pensions and annuities, next - such a man is depending on home assistance background because of too poor possibilities of choosing another way of life. This is why - in the light of the above presented factors analysed - we are licensed to state that the elderly in Poland do have decidedly worse possibilities of satisfying their already so much minimised needs and furthermore - they are conscious of being placed in a worse position than other age groups.Item Sposoby pojmowania istoty funkcji rodziny(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1990) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaThe article is devoted to the analysis of the elements which constitute the function of the family, their mutual configurations and significance. The purpose of the analysis is to review various definitions of the function, to arrange these definitions along the criterion of the number of components of the essence of the function, to show the relations between these components and the components of the social relation, and to propose a new way of understanding the essence of the function. The article also contains the proposal of distinguished between four concepts necessary to take empirical studies of the functions of the family, namely: the essence of the function, the composition of the function, the model scope of the function and the realizational scope of the function. These considerations prove that the most important element of the function are the attitudes of the family members. The attitude is understood here as a permanent organization of views concerning a particular situation and predisposing to certain reactions. Attitudes together with other elements of the function, such as tasks, activities, mutual influences and effects may form different arrangements of functions (praparational, realizational, adaptational, task, rational and optimum arrangements). These arrangements may influence to different degrees the satisfaction of the needs of the family members.Item Starość w aspekcie socjologicznym(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2000) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaSociologists making researches of various aspects of old age concentrate on: 1. Characteristic features of the old generation, 2. The position of the elderly in the society, 3. The position of the elderly in the family, 4. The situation of the elderly in the job-market, 5. Social needs of the elderly, 6. Loneliness and seclusion, 7. The process of retiring from social roles, 8. Values accepted and preferred by the elderly, 9. Roles played by the elderly, 10. Ways of living in social service institutions. From a sociological point of view the elderly are analysed as a social group and a generation. In sociological research old age is treated as a social problem, a social process and a way of living a life of an old-age pensioner. In the article a review of the current outcome of social research is made in order to construct the image of the elderly.Item Więź w rodzinach wielodzietnych(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2002) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaThe analysis of selected indicators of the following bonds in families with many children: social-upbringing, cultural, and marital, based on research conducted by many authors, has shown that the burden of numerous duties connected with bringing up children and running the house does not enable, and in fact makes it harder for women to concentrate on deliberate actions that would help create a stronger upbringing bond between the mother and the children. In such families, not enough attention is paid to care for the bond between the siblings and between the spouses. It is noticeable that the marital bond is in decline under the burden of everyday life. The children, instead of bringing the spouses together, are rather a factor in their going in separate ways emotionally. It may seem worrying that, in families with many children, the fathers take little part in caring for and bringing up the children, and devote little time to talking to children, taking them for a walk, playing with them, and spending time with them in other ways; rather they impose this duty on the mothers. It may be supposed that many fathers are not prepared for fatherhood in general, and for being father to many children in particular. Their role, so important in creating emotional and social bonds, is then limited mainly to procreation and financial status o f the family.Item Wprowadzenie(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2008) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaItem Wprowadzenie(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2011) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaItem Wprowadzenie(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2007) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaItem Wprowadzenie(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2010) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaItem WPROWADZENIE(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2006) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaItem Zakres funkcji opiekuńczo-zabezpieczającej rodziny(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1985) Kotlarska-Michalska, AnnaThe present article contains the review of various means of handling the tutelar and securing functions of a family in the Polish sociological literature. The differences in handling of that function are resulting from ,a various understanding of function's essence. For some it means effects of acts, for others it is acts performed by a family or goals a family is aiming at. Various ranges (sets of: acts, actions, goals) .and names of the same function are consequence of the unequivocal understanding of function. The „tutelar and educational function" and „securing function" are the names in most frequent use. Irrespective of the function's name it is is often ascribed the following acts: tutelar, care, services, various forms of material benefits and acts of prevention and securing. Any of the presented definitions includes a distinct „set" of acts. The review of the frequently used denominations for the tutelar and securing functions prove that they can be handled in three ways: a) as an autonomous function, posessing the own range, b) the two-range function being a merger of two functions, e) non-autonomous function included in the range of several other functions. Complexity of the tutelar and securing functions and the methologieally desired necessity to differentiate it from the whole of family functions induced the authoress to present a descriptive-enurrerative definition containing explicitely all substantial acts actions and attitudes.
