Item ATRAKCYJNOŚĆ INWESTYCYJNA POLSKI W ŚWIETLE ZAGRANICZNYCH INWESTYCJI BEZPOŚREDNICH(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 2002) Jantoń-Drzdowska, Elżbieta; Majewska, Maria; Grala, JolantaThe growth and development of any country depends on the quantity and quality of investment made in it. Therefore, both developing and developed countries compete in an attempt to create beneficial conditions for foreign direct investments (FDIs). In the era of globalisation it is becoming crucial to define foreign investors’ motives in addition to localisation factors that influence the decision about the selection of place for an investment (i.e. determinants), as well as the investment risk and attractiveness of a given country. Ignorance of those factors which condition the influx of investment plainly hinders investment-attracting policies and reduces the efficiency of promotional activities on the international scale. By contrast, awareness of the mechanisms and regularities of foreign investors’ decisions allows to increase the inflow of those FDIs that appropriately stimulate the development of the country. The aim of this article is to identify factors determining the degree of investment attractiveness of Poland and affecting the scope of foreign direct investments made in this country. The main assets of the Polish market are, beside its geographic location, also its economic and demographic size, since, according to the results of an analysis of FDI influx to Poland, foreign investors look for large capacious markets with a high development potential. A high GDP growth rate, a reduced inflation level, consistent privatisation as well as an efficient unemployment-fighting policy are all a necessary condition to maintain the influx of FDIs into Poland. Foreign investments in Poland, if appropriately encouraged and managed, can be among the main tools to be used for reducing the distance between the Polish and EU economies. This is especially true in the view of the small competitiveness rate of the Polish economy as compared to the economies of the European Union.Item Badania preferencji wobec marek - znaczenie w zarządzaniu(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1997) Augustyniak, Hanna; Majewska, MariaThe article is an attempt to create a methodological concept of research of brand-name perception and preferences and a presentation of empirical results of such a research. The objective of the research was to diagnose the level of perception and preference differentiation of selected brand-names of coffee and to identify factors which cause this differentiation. Age, gender and educational background were hypotetically taken as potential factors which may cause the phenomenon. The research took into account prices and other determinants of the preferences. The research employed the method of partial survey. The population of Poznań above 18 was taken as the general population for the research. The survey used representative method based on a study of perceptions and preferences of randomly selected customers of food stores handling coffee. The research evaluated the perception of utility characteristics and consumer behavior as well as attitudes expressed through purchase decision-making process, buying only certain brands of coffee or declaring such a predisposition. The survey indicates substantial consumer preferences differentiation. The penchant to buy two leading brands of coffeee: Jacobs and Astra is very well pronounced. The research indicates that age, education and gender are indeed, the determinants of the surveyed preferences. Notwithstanding, the authors recommend further, sequential research of the same scope to make the study conclusive for management.Item Rozwój elastycznego rynku pracy: uwarunkowania prawno-ekonomiczne(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Majewska, Maria; Samol, SebastianW monografii omówiono uwarunkowania prawno-ekonomiczne rozwoju elastycznego rynku pracy na przykładzie doświadczeń Unii Europejskiej (rynek odpowiadający specyfice krajów rozwiniętych), by przedstawić, w jaki sposób jest on obecnie pojmowany. The subject of this paper was one of the economic development paths, named usually the investment development path, which model has been shaped mainly by J. H. Dunning and R. Narula. This model is also similar to the model of the economic development path proposed by M. Porter. Therefore, were discussed the changes in the main elements of this model, which took place in the Polish economy in 1995-2012. Those elements were the trade structure diveded by the degree of technological sophistication, direct investment and indicators of economic performance. In order to verify if in the case of Poland have been occurred economic dependences assumed by the representatives of this model also was carried out correlation and regression analysis. The results of the study suggest that Poland shifted to the third stage of analyzed economic development path where more emphasis is placed on innovations as the country moves toward producing more technology intensive products.
