Item Impulsy edukacyjne w (re)konstrukcji struktury nie tylko społeczeństwa polskiego(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Modrzewski, JerzyThe ambiguity in operationalizing education concept and social structure signifi cantly reduces the explanatory power of comparative analyses of empirical evidence, illustrating the nature of the mutual relationships between educational practice and the dynamics of social mobility and thereby an importance of institutional education in shaping the competitive rather than traditional channel of promotion of the next generation coming into the world. Even the relatively lenient treatment of this drawback reveals a variety of forms of these relationships and the generally indirect, ambiguous impact of educational processes on shaping the early and contemporary image of the stratifi ed social structure.Item Meandry polskiej zinstytucjonalizowanej socjologii wychowania(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2015) Modrzewski, JerzyThis paper shows indeed a meandering history of Polish sociology of education, consistently defined since the Polish publication by F. Znaniecki in 1928–1930 of his two-volume textbook: Sociology of Education. Now, however, and in the entire period of sociological interest in disclosing broader sociocultural issues of education (socialization) shown in the article, it is variously identified (also institutionally) and completes with organizational forms the practice in Polish academic structures of sociological science and educational sciences. The article traces its history over the past and period and at the beginning of the 21st century.Item O poznańskiej (i nie tylko) pedagogice społecznej(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2016) Matysiak-Błaszczyk, Agata; Włodarczyk, Ewa; Modrzewski, JerzySocial pedagogy in Poland already has a history of over a hundred years, with its roots in the positivist and socialist reflection of the socio-philosophical turn of the 20th century. Helena Radlinska is rightly credited with its problematization, theoretical and academic institutionalization; she was also the organizer and promoter of the Lodz and Warsaw scientific community. In the second half of the twentieth century other scientific communities were formed and continued some of her practice according to the paradigm proposed by Radlinska, as a praxeological science. These are teams of educators in Katowice, Torun, Bydgoszcz, Olsztyn, Szczecin, Opole, Bialystok, etc., initiating its presence in the rapidly developing centers of academic science and teaching. Against this background, the authors of this article reveal the genesis, original characteristics, development, achievements, and prospects of Poznan-based social pedagogy at the turn of the 21st century.Item PRZEGLĄD PIŚMIENNICTWA(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 2000) Modrzewski, JerzyEdward Hajduk, Układy społeczne i ich funkcje socjałizacyjne (zarys probłemów), Lubuskie Towarzystwo Naukowe, Zielona Góra 1999, ss. 145.Item Rodzicielstwo osób niepełnoletnich(Uniwersytet im. In the texts in this monograph the author tackles key questions regarding how sociopedagogy has developed since the inter-war period. These questions deal with theoretical aspects, formative research establishing the Polish tradition and the environment within which it is conducted, and also current level of develpment. The sociopedagogy texts in this monograph primarily describe how socialization processes, in their associative and dissociative forms, update themselves dynamically in their socio-cultural contexts, as well as with regard to all age groups in society and the structures they create. It is also an attempt to diagnose social problems experienced in contemporary Polish society, and through examples to highlight the threats: at the individual level, these are threats related to the vital and to customs; at the community level, these are problems infringing the axionormative order practiced and sustained in society, restricting individual citizens’ freedom and existential opportunities.Item Uniwersytet w układzie miejskim i regionalnym(Wydział Prawa i Administracji UAM, 1984) Modrzewski, JerzyThe article attempts at presentation of the selected sociopedagogdead aspects of a formation process of genetic, structural and functional relations of university with a city and its location region. History and the present state of universities in Poland serve as an illustrating material for theses formulated by the author, although these are handled in a broad context of the 800 year old history of European universities and of the modern situation of universities in the world. The study was based on premises of the social developement theory and the functional theory. That somehow twofold perspective of the presented relations of universities to cities and their location regions is clearly visualized in substance of the respective parts of article. The first part of the article consists in presentation of genetic, dialectical in their nature, nuclei and interdependencies affecting the very act of creation and further developement of universities and closely related to socio-cultural, economical and spatial features of city and its location site. Against that bacground a system of extralocal factors is presented, which yield a substantial influence on forming a type of university, characteristic for a defined level of developement of state, region and city. The second and third part of the article is devoted to presentation of structural and functional intrrelations of university with a city and its region which are dynamizing or stabilizing a developement of those three socio-spatial systems. A process of university's passing through various stages of its functioning is observed in those systems on account of specificity of developing university features and a character of links with a city and its region. The following stages are being mentioned: adaptational and integrational, stabilization and-or reproduction, developement and-or expansion and a stage of model's transformation and re-adaptation to the changed conditions of environment. Their duration, the act of appearance and dynamics of changes result from the effect of both internal features-factors of the university and of the external ones originating in a city and its region. In the conclusive remarks, university as a poly functional system is presented. It performs its internal functions due to the character of its city, regionali links. In the author's opinion the theoretical concept of description and explication of relations presented in the article is not finite methodologically. It requires further examination, empirical verification and developement of such analysis which would entirely visualise a character of relations of university, city and region and their significance for functions performed by university.
