Item O związkach Heleny Modrzejewskiej z Poznaniem - wybrane konteksty i źródłowe świadectwa(Wydawnictwo Księgarnia Akademicka w Krakowie, 2020) Kurek, KrzysztofSummary: Relations between Helena Modjeska and Poznań - Selected Context and Source Reports. Helena Modjeska's relations with the city of Poznań and Greater Poland should be viewed as an important element of the biography of this great Polish actres (1840-1909). These relations should be analysed from multiple standpoints, especially from the professional, private, social and political perspectives. This article attempts to show the unique and intricate network of connections mainly in a context of written accounts that were published in the Polish-language press of nineteenth-century Poznań. The choice of this particular group of source materials is intentional and deliberate. Strangely enough, the authors of hitherto published studies on the local daily newspapers such as "Dziennik Poznański" or "Kurier Poznański", and when they did so, most of these accounts were discussed only superficially. The available press source materials and the following analysis make it possible though to recreate the atmosphere and emotions surrounding Modjeska's guest stage performances.Item Występy gościnne Heleny Modrzejewskiej w Poznaniu w 1880 roku z perspektywy publikacji "Dziennika Poznańskiego"(Wydawnictwo Księgarnia Akademicka w Krakowie, 2021) Kurek, KrzysztofThe subject matter of this work concerns the articles and reviews - with an introduction and extended editorial commentary - published on the pages of "Dziennik Poznański" in connection with the guest performances of Helena Modjeska in Poznań in February 1880. Arranged in chronological order, the press texts not only show extraordinary emotions caused by the visit of the outstanding artist, but also allow to understand social and political contexts of the describet events. Printed for the first time, the texts constitue the valuable source material not only for historians of the theatre but also for explorers of the history of Poznań in the 19th century.
