Visions of the future life of children with chronic diabetes
Abstract
Zaburzenia spowodowane chorobą przewlekłą jaką jest cukrzyca mają ogromne znaczenie na ogólne funkcjonowanie człowieka, szczególnie w sferze emocjonalnej i społecznej, stąd prowadzonych jest wiele badań mających na celu wspieranie rozwoju tych osób szczególnie dzieci. Zbadanie różnic wyobrażeń wizji przyszłego życia pomiędzy osobami zdrowymi i przewlekle chorymi dotyczyło przewidywań tego życia jak i jego stanu pożądanego, co niestety potwierdziło negatywny wpływ choroby przewlekłej na rozwój dziecka.
Trzeba zwrócić uwagę, że wizje życiowe wyznaczają tylko preferencje konstruowania planów życiowych, jednak jeżeli na poziomie tych preferencji dzieci chore na cukrzycę mają zaniżony obraz swojej wartości, to implikuje do stwierdzenia, że obraz ten może znaleźć swoje odbicie w przyszłych planach. Ważne jest również stwierdzenie faktu, że rozbieżność pomiędzy wizjami przewidywanymi a pożądanymi jest odzwierciedleniem struktury Ja. Nieprawidłowa rozbieżność pomiędzy Ja realnym, a Ja idealnym zagraża prawidłowemu rozwojowi tożsamości, dlatego szczególnie ważna wydaje się profesjonalna ingerencja w celu umożliwienia dziecku prawidłowego rozwoju struktury Ja.
Przeprowadzone badania, dotyczące wizji najbliższej przyszłości i przyszłego życia dorosłego sugerują, że powstałe różnice pomiędzy dziećmi chorymi a zdrowymi, wynikają zawsze z tych samych uwarunkowań dzieci chorych na cukrzycę, którymi są: zaburzone bezpieczeństwo, niskie poczucie własnej wartości, nieadekwatny obraz własnej choroby. Wyróżnione czynniki powinny wyznaczać kierunek działań profilaktycznych, skierowanych ku dzieciom z cukrzycą w celu wyrównania ich szans życiowych.
Disorders caused by chronic disease which is diabetes have a great significance on the overall functioning of people, particularly in the emotional and social spheres. That is why a lot of research work is conducted the aim of which is to support the development of these people and in particular of children. The study of the differences in the ideas of vision of the future life of healthy people and of the chronically sick ones concerned predictions of this life as well as of the desirable condition, which, unfortunately, confirmed the negative influence of the chronic disease on the development of children. Attention should be drawn to the fact that visions of life determine only preferences of making plans for life. However, if at the level of these preferences, children suffering from diabetes have a worse opinion on their value then this makes one state that this opinion may be reflected in their plans for the future. It is also important to mention the fact that the discrepancy between the predicted and the desirable visions is a reflection of the structure of I. The improper discrepancy between the real I and the ideal I threatens normal development of identity, that is why professional intervention to enable children to correctly develop their structure of I seems to be particularly important. The studies conducted on the vision of the nearest future and of the future life as adults suggest that the differences which arose between sick children and the healthy ones always result from the same conditions in which children suffering from diabetes have to live. These conditions are as follows: upset safety, their low opinion about their own value and an inadequate view of their disease. The factors distinguished in the book should define the direction of prophylaxis of children with diabetes the aim of which should be offering them equal opportunities
