Praktyka Teoretyczna jest czasopismem naukowym, przestrzegającym standardów jakości publikacji przyjętych w świecie akademickim. Pismo kierowane jest zarówno do środowisk uniwersyteckich, jak i ludzi kultury, aktywistów, działaczy politycznych i wszystkich tych, którym nieobca jest krytyczna, zaangażowana refleksja nad otaczającą rzeczywistością. W szczególności pismo poświęcone jest filozofii politycznej (zarówno tej teoretycznej, jak i o bardziej praktycznym zacięciu), krytycznym naukom społecznym i szeroko rozumianym naukom o kulturze. Publikuje zarówno teksty teoretyczne, analityczne, jak i empiryczne analizy i wyniki badań.

Theoretical practice is what interests us most: to continuously question the relation between theory and practice. We consider the tension that arises from combining those two variant „practices” a sole source of both forms of activity: „theoretical” (philosophy, sciences) and „practical” (politics, technology, arts). Staying in a domain of broadly understood philosophy, we are attempting to develop it in correlation with the whole variety of practices, but at the same time with a reference to the sciences that build those practices. For us, philosophy is the prime mover of the development of practice and theory; at the same time, however, it disrupts them, as they exist only in a fundamental relation with their exterior (matter, life, time and space). We also want it not to be blind to the conditions of life in which others live. We are aiming for developing the ability to practice the theory: rebuilding and deconstructing existing theoretical vocabularies, finding new spaces for application of theorems in developing sciences, penetrating newborn inter- and transdisciplinary scientific discourses, interpreting social and technological changes.
