„Různé zlé věci jsou stimulací pro dobré věci, pro hrdinství” – przypadek Oto Mádra (1948–1968)
(Komisja Slawistyczna PAN, Oddział w Poznaniu, IFS UAM, Wydawnictwo PRO, 2016) Brodniewicz, Joanna
The article presents the profile of Oto Mádr (1917–2011) in his struggle with the Communists on the basis of memories and documents. Oto Mádra is shown against the background of the events from vítězný únor to pražské jaro (1948–1968) in Czechoslovakia. He is a Czech priest and theologian, ordained in 1942, having remarkable achievements in the fight against the communist regime and for indepen- dence. In 1952 sentenced to life imprisonment for pastoral work among students, he was released in 1966. Potocyzmy i wulgaryzmy w powieści Jáchyma Topola »Strefa cyrkowa«
(Komisja Slawistyczna PAN, Oddział w Poznaniu, IFS UAM, Wydawnictwo PRO, 2016) Taboł, Sebastian
Article answers the question: What are the functions in the novel Poplar vulgar and colloquial words. The use of these words is certainly thought-treatment by the author. The use of these tokens is aware of mediocrity reality in which man does not have to try to speak properly, carefully, beautifully and efficiently. If reality is not acceptable, the sender is released from the culture of the language, attention to accuracy of expression, located in the appropriate scale of compliance with the standard language. Setting heroes is gray, ugly, therefore the characters speak everyday, expressively motivated by which Topol also convinces the reader of the hopelessness of the world in which they found themselves heroes. Profanity and colloquialism have a definite, clear and powerful method for evaluating the world and people. Language transfer, saturated with this type of lexemes is highly expressive and emotional.

    Intertextovost v Topolově »Sestře«
(Komisja Slawistyczna PAN, Oddział w Poznaniu, IFS UAM, Wydawnictwo PRO, 2016) Schneiderová, Soňa
These days, Topol’s novel Sestra (Sister) is already considered as an authoritative text that belongs to the most significant Czech prosaic works of the 20th century and represents its author’s attitude to the canon of contemporary cultural heritage since it tells „the story of our experience”, including its literary and cultural aspects. At the same time it is one of the most important texts within the Czech literature referring to the canon, that is, to the rules of forming a post-modern text. The book was written in 1990’s, when post-modernism in Czech literature reached its peak. As all such texts, it evinces features of post-modern writing not only at the ideological level, evident while unfolding the thematic line through multi-layer character of numerous stories, but also in the text structure. The rich network of inter-textual references to which this chapter focuses on is one of the most striking features of this structure. Here we describe certain types of signals that refer to pretexts and grammatical, stylistic and structural changes that occur while author uses pretext in his prose and when individual allusions are engaged. The analysis notices between so-called playful allusions and those that play substantial roles in building the meaning of Topol’s prose. In the second group we find namely biblical allusions, some of which we describe while characterizing so-called onomastic allusions. We conclude with the description of processes that occur when the author incorporates other texts in his own text.

Nynější problémy s někdejším literárním regionalismem
(Komisja Slawistyczna PAN, Oddział w Poznaniu, IFS UAM, Wydawnictwo PRO, 2016) Harák, Ivo
In his study, Ivo Harák deals with work of a poet, fine artist and pedagogue Ladislav Stehlík, one of the most significant representatives of a literary regionalism (according to Martin C. Putna), in Czech countries both before and after second world war. Above all, Harák considers Stehlík´s most remarkable work Země zamyšlená, first published in 1947, (a compendium on history, land, people and art of South Bohemia) which has been well-accepted by readers and literary scientists. Harák notices its drawbacks due to the time it was written at and also the way Stehlík overcomes the dictate of contemporary ideology. Particularly, Harák emphasises timeless values of Země zamyšlená and reasons why the work is worth attention even in literary classes on Czech (secondary) schools. For a foreign reader, the text may be a guide through the metamorphoses of the south-bohemian land.

Potentiality of Quantitative and Corpus Analysis to Literary Studies – Toward Methodology (The Analysis of Thematic Fields)
(Komisja Slawistyczna PAN, Oddział w Poznaniu, IFS UAM, Wydawnictwo PRO, 2016) Změlík, Richard
The first part of presented study is focused on quantitative and corpus analysis of the first three collections of short stories by the Czech prose writer Jan Čep. Using the definition of so-called thematic field we try to demonstrate how this methodology can be used in the context of literary theory. The study is intended mainly to present the possibilities that contemporary quantitative and corpus analysis offer to the theory of literature. Both disciplines have in fact so far developed without noticeable mutual contacts. Special model of Jan Čep authorial corpus and its analysis should prove potentiality of these primarily linguistic methods also in the theory of literature.
