The issue of peculiarity in the biological and cultural evolution of the human species
Abstract
Głównym zadaniem pracy jest charakterystyka wybranych strategii zachowań społecznych z perspektywy ewolucji biologicznej człowieka oraz na rozszerzeniu tego obrazu o wybrane determinanty i mechanizmy ponadbiologiczne, rozumiane jako determinanty kulturowe. Dzięki temu ukazuje się osobliwości koewolucji biologiczno-kulturowej Homo sapiens oraz konsekwencje teoretyczne takiego podejścia. Wskazuje się też na występowanie naturalnych i kulturowych ograniczeń w kształtowaniu się dyspozycji poznawczych człowieka. Uzupełnia ją krytyczna analiza przesłanek teoretycznych i filozoficznych potocznie przyjmowanych koncepcji, dotyczących ludzkiej natury społecznej. Rozdział I. przedstawia zasadnicze wątki treściowe współczesnej biologicznej nauki o zachowaniach społecznych w ujęciu socjobiologicznym Edwarda Wilsona. Omawia się główne przesłanki teoretyczne i podstawowy aparat pojęciowy socjobiologii. Druga część tego rozdziału wykłada podstawowe pojęcia tzw. dialektyki kategorialnej i idealizacyjnej koncepcji nauki sformułowane przez L. Nowaka, bo w aparacie idealizacyjnym ująć można dokładniej modele interakcji społecznych. Rozdział II. przedstawia naturalne źródła pochodzenia podstawowych relacji społecznych oraz ewolucyjne ograniczenia ludzkich dyspozycji poznawczych. Jest to biologicznie zinterpretowany problem centryzmów powiązany z obecnością mechanizmu wewnątrzgatunkowej empatii. Rozdział III. jest prezentacją idei socjobiologicznych i matematycznej teorii gier. Rekonstruuje się w nim ewolucyjny model interakcji społecznych (EMIS). Doprecyzowane zostają, wprowadzone w poprzednich rozdziałach, pojęcia: strategii ewolucyjnie stabilnej (ESS), altruizmu zwrotnego i strategii wzajemności. Ten model stosuje się też do wyjaśniania ludzkich strategii (postaw) społecznych, a poprzez rozszerzenie modelu EMIS o czynnik kulturowy, otrzymujemy obraz koewolucji naturalno-kulturowej zachowań społecznych człowieka. Główną ideą rozdziału IV. jest zestawienie i krytyczna analiza, innego niż biologiczno-ewolucyjny, modelu interakcji społecznych. Korzysta się tu z ujęcia ludzkich zachowań, jakie proponuje ewangeliczny (EMC) oraz nieewangeliczny model człowieka (NEMC). Dokonuje się też zestawienia omawianych modeli człowieka z modelem EMIS, który ustanawia biologiczny wzorzec zachowań społecznych. Natomiast rozdział V. stanowi pewną teoretyczną propozycję klasyfikacji sytuacji społecznych. Pokazuje się również kategorialną różnicę pomiędzy naturalnymi i kulturowymi sytuacjami społecznymi oraz przedstawia propozycję rozszerzenia naturalnych sytuacji społecznych o strategie kulturowe.
The main objective of the paper is to present the main factors and mechanisms that give human species a unique place in the world of culture. Its realization is based on the characteristics of selected social strategies of behavior from the perspective of human biological evolution and on the extension of the image on selected determinants and over-biological mechanisms, understood as cultural determinants. The intention is to bring the thread showing the peculiarities of biological and cultural co-evolution of Homo sapiens and theoretical analysis of the consequences of such an approach. The first chapter presents the main thematic lines of modern biological science of social behavior, in sociobiological terms of Edward O. Wilson’ conception. It discusses the main theoretical premises and basic conceptual apparatus in the field of sociobiology. The second chapter however, clarifies basic concepts of the so called categorical dialectics and idealizational theory of science formulated by Leszek Nowak. It is the idealizational apparatus which can encompass some simplified models of social interactions. In the second chapter I present a natural source of basic social relationships and evolutionary constraints of human cognitive disposition. In principle, it refers to biologically interpreted problem of centrism, the importance of intra-individual relationships, natural impossibility to overcome human centric constraints and the general presence of a mechanism for intra-species empathy. The third chapter is a presentation of socio-biological concepts and the mathematical theory of games. It reconstructs the evolutionary model of social interaction (EMIS). With the help of evolutionary game theory terms introduced in previous chapters are clarified. The terms such as: evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS), reciprocal altruism, mutuality strategy (“tit for tat”). Additionally, an attempt to apply this model to explain human social strategies (attitudes) is undertaken. The extension of EMIS model by a cultural factor, we obtain a model picture of natural-cultural co-evolution in social human behavior. The main idea of the fourth chapter is a summary and critical analysis of a model of social interaction, different from the EMIS model presented in the third chapter. Here I use a novel human cognitive behavioral approach, which proposes the evangelical (EMC) and non-evangelical human model (NEMC). Refined theoretical assumptions of both models and modified as appropriate conceptual apparatus allows the formal and substantive overview of those models with a model of human EMIS. Gathered in the course of the discussion material of thought, occurring in the three above models can be exchanged for presenting certain peculiar attitudes in the human social life. The fifth chapter provides a theoretical proposal for the classification of social situations. Meta-theoretical idea, is the thesis of the categorical dialectics of essentiality in distinguishing the category of nature and human culture. Based on the previously analyzed models of social interaction, I present a proposal to extend the natural social situations by cultural strategies.
