Descriptions of nature in Mr Tadeusz of Adam Mickiewicz in French translations: of Paul Cazin, Robert Bourgeois and Roger Legras
Abstract
Praca dotyczy Pana Tadeusza w trzech przekładach na język francuski: Paula Cazina, Roberta Bourgeois i Rogera Legrasa. Badaniom poddano trzy przekłady w celu ich porównania w aspekcie sposobów tłumaczenia określonych figur stylistycznych składających się na opisy przyrody. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów rozbudowanych o podrozdziały. Każdy rozdział kończy się podsumowaniem. Natomiast podsumowanie całości stanowią konkluzje. Zamieszczono dwa aneksy: pierwszy to Wybrana terminologia (polska i francuska) oraz drugi – Ilustracje. Aneksy mają przede wszystkim pomóc w zrozumieniu obcych wyrazów, szczególnie tych elementów świata przyrody, które mogłyby stanowić trudność w tłumaczeniu. W końcowej części praca zawiera résumé w języku francuskim i bibliografię. Praca ma charakter porównawczo-traduktologiczny, tzn. że oprócz treści teoretycznych z dziedziny historii i teorii literatury oraz teorii przekładu zawiera analizę porównawczą wybranych elementów opisów świata przyrody utworu oryginalnego i jego przekładów. Część teoretyczna stanowi pomocne narzędzie badawcze. Jej zadaniem jest nakreślenie tła badawczego ściśle związanego z tematem rozprawy. Natomiast część badawcza pracy, czyli rozdział trzeci, dotyczy leksykalno-semantycznej analizy porównawczej tekstów. W pracy zweryfikowano trzy hipotezy, które w wyniku badań się potwierdziły, osiągnięto też zakładane cele.
The work is regarding Mr Tadeusz in three translations to the French: of Paul Cazin, Robert Bourgeois and Roger Legras. Three translations were had tested in order to compare them in the aspect of ways of explaining determined rhetorical figures comprising descriptions of nature. The work consists of three chapters extended for subsections. Every allocation is ending by the summary. However suming the whole up constitutes conclusions. Two appendices were placed: first it is a chosen terminology (Polish and French) and second - Illustrations. Appendices are supposed above all to help in understanding strange words, peculiarly to constitute these elements of world of the nature which could problem in the translation. In the final part the work contains the résumé in the French and bibliography. Character is in work comparative and traductological, i.e. apart from theoretical contents from the field of history and the literary theory and the theory of the translation contains the comparative analysis of chosen elements of descriptions of world of the nature of the authentic work and him of translations. The theoretical part constitutes the handy research tool. Drawing the research background closely is setting her connected with the subject trials. However the research part of the work, i.e. the chapter three, is regarding the lexical-semantic comparative analysis of texts. At the work three hypotheses which in the finding proved themselves were validated, also established purposes were achieved.
