O transparentności. Sztuka w przestrzeni publicznej postkomunistycznej Europy

Abstract

Istnieją cztery kluczowe sformułowania rozprawy: transparentność, sztuka, przestrzeń publiczna i postkomunizm. Tworzą one ramy eksploracji badawczych, dla których analizowanym materiałem są różnorodne projekty, prace artystyczne i interwencje w przestrzeni miast Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej. Całość przemyśleń zawartych w pracy, dąży do uchwycenia zarówno możliwości jak i konsekwencji, które niesie ze sobą transparentność dla szeroko pojętej przestrzeni życia współczesnego podmiotu. Praca doktorska jest rodzajem przewodnika „o” transparentności. Tej nie tylko widzianej, ale i myślanej, analizowanej czy przeżytej. Słowem takiej, która może przydarzyć się codziennie, w najbardziej rozmaitych, ale też uniwersalnych wymiarach. Filozofia, historia sztuki, socjologia, historia i teoria kultury oraz antropologia to obszary uwzględnione w dysertacji. Holistyczne podejście, przedstawione bez wartościowania i szukania ostatecznej prawdy ujawnia, paradoksalnie, niejasny i niejednoznaczny obraz transparentności, który wcześniej nie był znany.

Four crucial formulations of the thesis are depicted: transparency, art, public sphere and post-communism. They create the scope of research and exploration, where various projects, artistic works and the intervention in spaces of Central and Western European cities have come under close scrutiny. The whole line of thinking in the thesis aims at capturing possibilities as well as consequences which transparency provides for broadly defined living space of a contemporary individual. The thesis is a kind of guide “to” transparency. Not only transparency which can be perceived but also analysed or experienced. Namely, a guide “to” transparency which may occur at any time in diverse and also universal dimensions. Philosophy, history of art, sociology, history and theory of culture, and anthropology are the aspects taken into consideration in the dissertation. Holistic approach, presented without evaluation and no searching for the ultimate truth, paradoxically reveals an unclear and vague image of transparency, which has not been known so far.
