Spatial behavior of urban squares users in Poznań
Abstract
Place określane są często jako kluczowe elementy miasta, które użytkowane są przez wielu różnorodnych użytkowników. Prowadzone aktywności w miejskich placach są wynikiem relacji między człowiekiem a otaczającą go przestrzenią opierającej się na systemie sprzężeń zwrotnych między tymi dwoma podsystemami. Aby zrozumieć zachowania przestrzenne użytkowników miejskich placów istotne staje się zgłębienie tej relacji, która polega na nieustannym konfrontowaniu się człowieka z przestrzenią. Praca przedstawia wyniki badań poświęconych sposobom kształtowania się zachowań przestrzennych użytkowników miejskich placów w Poznaniu. Na potrzeby realizacji założonych celów pracy i odpowiedzi na postawione pytania wykorzystano 3 metody badawcze: obserwację, indywidualne wywiady pogłębione oraz kwestionariusz ankiety wykonany techniką CAWI. W części teoretycznej podjęto dyskusję literaturową dotyczącą miejskich placów jako otwartych przestrzeni publicznych, człowieka jako użytkownika tego typu obszarów w mieście, jego zachowań przestrzennych oraz teorii afordancji. W części empirycznej przedstawiono wyniki przeprowadzonych badań. Określono role miejskich placów dla ich użytkowników, identyfikowano potrzeby zaspokajane przez człowieka w tego typu przestrzeniach, rozpoznano czynniki wpływające na zachowania przestrzenne użytkowników miejskich placów i sklasyfikowano je według stopnia wpływu i ich genezy. Na końcu określono i opisano taktyki zachowań przestrzennych użytkowników miejskich placów decydujące często o przebiegu aktywności człowieka.
Squares are often referred to as key elements of the city that are used by many different users. The activities carried out in city squares are the result of the relationship between a person and the surrounding space based on a system of feedback between these two subsystems. In order to understand the spatial behavior of the users of urban squares, it becomes important to explore this relationship, which consists in the constant confrontation of man with space. The work presents the results of research on the ways of shaping the spatial behavior of users of urban squares in Poznań. For the purposes of achieving the assumed goals of the work and answering the questions posed, three research methods were used: observation, individual in-depth interviews and a questionnaire made using the CAWI technique. In the theoretical part, a literature discussion was undertaken on city squares as open public spaces, man as a user of such areas in the city, his spatial behavior and the affordance theory. The empirical part presents the results of the conducted research. The roles of city squares for their users were defined, human needs met in this type of spaces were identified, factors influencing the spatial behavior of city square users were identified and classified according to the degree of influence and their genesis. Finally, the tactics of the spatial behavior of users of urban squares, which often determine the course of human activity, were defined and described.
