| dc.description.abstract | The paper attempts to demonstrate the nature of the latest groundbreaking research into the origin of the Slavs, comparing research results from different disciplines (mainly archaeology, history, and linguistics). The lack of interdisciplinary research and the division to allo- and autochtonists, deeply rooted in Polish scholarship, makes it impossible to establish a common position; the theses put forward by researchers in various fields are contradictory. The paper tries to map out the steps that should be taken in the near future to address this problematic situation, including the rejection of the migration paradigm. The aim is also to prove that the individual voices suggesting the need of reformulate the research topic – appearing in the literature – are fully justified. | pl_PL |
