dc.description.abstract | Zbigniew Drozdowicz – SECULARIZATION AS A PROCESS OF RATIONALIZATION OF SOCIAL LIFE When joining the processes of secularization with processes of rationalization of social life I follow in large extent the path of Max Weber’s suggestions, and such of his continuators as P. L. Berg-er, Th. Luckmann, R. Stark and W. S. Bainbridge. From the point of view of these researchers a tradi-tional understanding of secularization, which refers to a gradual limitation of Church’s influence on social life, is being linked to various ideologies. In their opinion it is necessary to take those processes without this very link, because it is a requirement of scientific objectivism. I have serious doubts, if a objectivism understood like that is possible at all, and if the scholars mentioned here do fulfill that requirement in their own research. In my own considerations I present arguments which incline such doubts. On the other hand I have no doubts, that secuarization might be and should be linked to rationalization and Weber’s approach is still a model worth to follow. | pl_PL |
