Sick body which represents and is represented
A text is an analysis of representations of a mutilated women’s body in contemporary
art. Regarding to Édouard Manet’s transgression I deliberate the artworks by his followers: Magdalena Frey, Katarzyna Kozyra, Magda Hueckel and Joe Spence. A matter of viewers’ reception and production of image of mutilation is considered as well as the problem of cultural borders of presentation of abject.
