Around the syntax of Rozmyślania dominikańskie (‘Dominican meditation’)
Abstract
Głównym celem rozprawy doktorskiej był monograficzny opis składni „Rozmyślań dominikańskich”.
Rozprawa składa się z trzech obszernych rozdziałów. Pierwszy z nich prezentuje zewnątrzjęzykowe czynniki wpływające na składniowe ukształtowanie tekstu . Są to m.in. współobecność tekstu i miniatur, wielowarstwowość genetyczna, wpływ łacińskich źródeł, obecność struktur retorycznych.
Drugi rozdział zawiera szczegółowe analizy wybranych zagadnień składniowych. Wzięto pod uwagę wymienione wcześniej czynniki zewnątrzjęzykowe i
wewnatrzjęzykowe. Problemy, na które zwrócono
uwagę to: długość zdań w RD, sposoby wprowadzania
przytoczeń, struktury z rzeczownikami
odczasownikowymi, funkcje zaimków, glosy wciągnięte
w tekst główny przez kopistę, obecność ACI, a także
wyliczenia.
Ostatnia część ma charakter praktyczny. Porównano
wcześniej wydane fragmenty transkrypcji RD,
wskazano typu problemów wydawniczych,
charakterystycznych dla tego tekstu i – uwzględniając
wiedzę o całym zabytku – zaproponowano nowe
rozwiązania edytorskie.
The main purpose of this PHD thesis is to describe the syntax of ‘Dominican meditation’. This PHD thesis contains three big chapters. The first one presents non-syntax causes, which have an impact on the shape of ‘Dominican meditation’. These include: the presence of miniatures in the codex, its multilayered structure, the influence of the Latin sources, the presence of rhetoric structures. The second chapter shows particular syntax analysis. The lingual and intralingual factors, which were mentioned in the previous chapter, were taken into account in this part of the text. Important issues which are mentioned here are the problem of the length of sentences in ‘Dominican mediation’, ways to make reporting speach, the presence of structures with gerundium (accumulation of sens in a single sentence), the functions of pronouns, marginal annotations, gloss, which was caught into the main text, ACI construction, enumeratio. The last chapter is practical. The previously analysed transcriptions of the fragments of ‘Dominican meditation’ were compared. It also contains suggestions, how to prepare a new one. A new edition should include new knowledge of the syntax of the monument. This chapter shows concrete solutions for editorial
