Social structure of the Tartessain community: the case of the necropolis of Setefilla (Sevilla province)
Abstract
Celem pracy jest rekonstrukcji struktury społecznej społeczności tartezyjskiej. Użyta metodologia opiera się na wnioskowaniu indukcyjnym; wykorzystane zostały metody statystyczne oraz wykonano analizy przestrzenne kurhanu A i B z cmentarzyska w Setefilla. Zależności między danymi archeologicznymi a antropologicznymi interpretowane są przy wykorzystaniu zdobyczy myśli postporocesualnej. Omawiane jest znaczenie rytuałów w odniesieniu do relacji społecznych. Stwierdzono, iż tradycyjne struktury oparte na więzach krwi zastały zakłócone przez coraz silniejsze poczucie indywidualizmu. Katalog obejmuje informacje archeologiczne i antropologiczne na temat grobów kurhanu A i B.
The aim of this thesis is to present the general view of the social structure of the Tartessian community in Setefilla at the beginning of the Iron Age. The methodology is based on inductive approach, particularly on statistical and spatial analysis. Substantial research has been carried out on archaeological and anthropological data in order to determine indicators of sex and age. By using the achievements of postprocessual archaeology, I demonstrate the role of rituals and human body in creation of the social relations. It is argued that the traditional ties of consanguinity were disturbed by new social values built on individualism. The corpus contains archaeological and anthropological data of the tumulus A and B of Setefilla.
El presente trabajo intenta dar una visión general de la estructura social en Setefilla a principios de la Edad del Hierro. La metodología se basa en el inductivismo, concretamente en el análisis estadístico y espacial. Se buscan asociaciones entre datos arqueológicos y antropológicos con la intención de determinar indicadores de sexo y edad. La parte interpretativa aprovecha los logros de la arqueología posprocesual. Se discute la función de los rituales en la creación de las relaciones sociales y el rol del cuerpo humano como agente social. Se argumenta que las estructuras basadas en lazos de parentesco fueron desequilibradas a causa de la creciente individualización de los miembros del grupo. En el corpus de las tumbas se presentan datos arqueológicos y antropológicos del túmulo A y B de la necrópolis de Setefilla.
