The relationship between Ethnic- Cultural Identity and attitudes toward family functionality, and between coping methods and communal and national sentiments among normative and at-risk adolescents in the Bedouin population in the Negev
Abstract
Celem pracy jest zbadanie charakteru powiązań między zmiennymi wynikającymi z przynależności etnicznej dorastającej młodzieży beduińskiej w sytuacji zagrożeń, a jej podejściem do sposobu funkcjonowania rodziny, sposobami radzenia sobie z zagrożeniami, a także przynależnością do społeczności i narodu. Grupa docelowa obejmuje beduińską dorastającą młodzież zagrożoną negatywnymi zjawiskami społecznymi (społecznymi i emocjonalnymi: narkotyki, przestępczość, przemoc, nieadekwatna edukacja itp.) oraz młodzież ‘normalną’ (która zdołała uniknąć tych zagrożeń). Przyjrzenie się obydwu grupom młodzieży pozwoliło badającemu na wskazanie podobieństw i różnic wynikających z tych dwóch zmiennych: życie w społeczności uznawanej bądź nieuznawanej oraz ‘normalne’ dorastanie lub dorastanie w sytuacji zagrożenia. W badaniu wzięto również pod uwagę inne zmienne społeczno-demograficzne.
The research objective is to examine the nature of the relationship between the variables indicating the ethnic identity of adolescents in situations of risk in the Bedouin society and attitudes towards the functioning of the family, the styles of coping, and their community and national connection. The target population includes at-risk adolescents and normative adolescents in Bedouin society, an ethnic minority group in Israel that lives in recognized and unrecognized communities. Two groups of adolescents in situations of risk in the Bedouin population in the Negev will allow the researcher to learn whether there is a change and difference or similarity in the processes that occur in their lives in their relation to their national and community connection to the state.
