Abstract
Praca omawia problematykę związaną z badaniami prowadzonymi przez Atanazego hr. Raczyńskiego (1788-1874) nad historią i stanem portugalskich sztuk pięknych oraz powstałą na ich podstawie publikacją – Les Arts en Portugal (1846) wraz z towarzyszącym jej leksykonem biograficznym – Dictionnaire historico-artustique du Portugal (1847). Punkt wyjścia stanowi analiza zawartości merytorycznej i kompozycji literackiej teksu oraz osadzenie go w kontekście historiograficznych przemian zachodzących w środowisku niemieckich historyków sztuki, z którego wywodził się autor opracowania. Ponadto szerokiej, kontekstualnej interpretacji poddane są kluczowe zagadnienia studiowane przez Raczyńskiego między innymi problem badań nad portugalską szkołą malarstwa dawnego, stylem narodowym w architekturze, kwestią krytycznego osądu dorobku tamtejszej sztuki oraz edukacji artystycznej prowadzonej w ramach Akademii Sztuk Pięknych. Pracę uzupełnia zrekonstruowana na podstawie źródeł historia recepcji dokonań Raczyńskiego oraz ocena długofalowego wpływu jego aktywności na rozwój refleksji historyczno-artystycznej w Portugalii.
The dissertation discusses problems related to the research conducted by Count Athanasius Raczyński (1788-1874) on history and state of Portuguese art and the resulting publication Les Arts en Portugal (1846) and its accompanying biographical lexicon - Dictionnaire historico-artustique du Portugal (1847). The starting point is constituted by the analysis of a content of and a literary composition of the text and its embedding it in the context of historiographical changes taking place in the circles of German art historians, from which originated the author of the study. In addition, a broad, contextual interpretation is being given to the key issues studied by Raczyński, including the research on the Portuguese school of painting, the national style of architecture, the critical judgment of the art and the artistic education of the Academy of Fine Arts. The work is made complete by the sources-based reconstruction of the history of reception of Raczyński's achievements and the long-term impact of his activity on the development of Portuguese art-historical thinking.
